You associate the Magna Carta series with quality? The console games at least have always hovered around the 60s in MC rating.
It seems like an idea better suited for a plugin, I've been thinking and this might be good for tablet PC's
Firstly, I didn't press agree or disagree on your post.
Secondly, yes you are right but even then, Windows has become so familiar and compatible (with day to day programs) and people prefer it for that. Try giving your average computer user a company of Linux, the learning curve would be very discouraging for some. Dell I believe is an example of a company that gives you the choice of installing what ever OS you want (aka Windows or Linux).
South Park is great but Family Guy is unfortunately more mainstream.
The XBLA game was through a Microsoft/SPS partnership so who knows, maybe some advertising is inbound there as well.
Even without advertising Windows still manages to sell a crap ton of copies.
Seems a bit useless in my opinion, especially for larger laptops, I don't want to start shaking my screen. This is ideal for phones of course and many PDA's do have it.
Will hopefully be better than those house party ads.
Mega64 is not IGN owned, they are independent, they only have a partnership deal where IGN gets to publish their videos first before they do themselves.
Pepto: Many people are excited about Forza 3, what's wrong with someone showing their excitement for a game in a news story relevant to the game?
You can buy Blu Ray players that support VHS playback dude, mostly in Japan and Europe. Also, your Blu Ray player will playback your DVD's, CD's, and in earlier models your HD DVD's as well. :p
Anyway, the issue people have with the PSP Go is the fact that your old UMD collection won't work on what is essentially the same device (aka not PSP 2) and no way exists to bring your UMD collection to the PSP Go.
Blaze929: Mega64 is independent, they don't work for IGN, they just have a deal with them.
It might seem all fun and games but this does bring up a good point, I bet there will be parents this Christmas season who either buy PSP Go's and UMD games or UMD games for their kids who have a PSP Go.
$5 less for the used version? No thanks.
Bu bu bu Mac's can't make mistakes! :p
I joke, but if this bug was in Windows for instance people would be here bashing Windows, Microsoft, etc and touting how superior Mac's are for not having the usual marketing spew.
Correction: The gaming industry is being killed by people who call themselves journalists but in the end only care about getting the hits so would go to any lengths to do so.
I personally don't consider myself a journalist, I feel I have a long way to go and a lot to learn before I can earn that title, the same can be said for over 95% of this industry but everyone has their own views on the subject.
Bull, very few sites would be impacted by this. Stores like Amazon can still continue, hell, they already sell XBLA game codes. Companies will also give you review copies of games, in this case a code to download the game from your service of choice.
There were rumors that Sega was working on a new console/handheld that would be announced in late 2009/2010 and based of their Arcade hardware IIRC, I forgot what site it was but they got a C & D from Sega over the apparently leaked documents.
I haven't played the path but I was watching the controversy it created, it's good to see the game did well enough for them to pay everything off and hopefully profit.
As long as their is a market we will still see DVD's. Hell, they still sell VHS tapes at Safeway!
Event than, a niche market can still exist look at Vinyl Records. In North America for instance a lot of Middle East, Asia, etc oriented stores sell products on cassette tapes, why? People buy them.
The issues are mostly "chance" related, ex, if you want to chop down a tree it won't work the first time but it may work on you seventh try.
Netscape, good times! I still have a copy of it installed despite support being discontinued, I hope it returns one day though, it serves a very symbolic position.
