HDTV for me but I have no trouble having to game on an SDTV, I do sometimes on a PC monitor (motion sickness mostly) depending on the type of game and how far away I am from the screen.
AEtherbane: Companies like Nintendo, Sony, Apple, etc use Foxconn, the company that constantly comes under fire for killing workers, bad employment practices, etc. Many companies especially in the gaming industry use cheap labor in Asia, it's ridiculous to say Microsoft is the only one.
Edit: Foxgod, recalls generally cost a lot of money since you have to advertise the recall, have people on hand to take care of the recall, build new products, etc.

Where did you see that figure from? Just because it was announced today doesn't mean they weren't working on it before hand. I'm sure the Gears team started working on it to some degree before Gears 2 shipped, after all, it was teased at the end of Gears of War 2!

Fang: Have you even played Halo Wars or Halo 3: ODST? They DO stay true to the franchise, everything in those games is canon either mentioned directly in the games or in the original books/short films. Those games didn't review or sell badly either, people liked them.
I haven't seen Halo: Legends so I can't comment on that.

You can't fire someone without a valid reason in North America, Activision has claimed that Zampella and West were attempting to leave and take talent with them along with the IP apparently. When this originally happened their were also rumblings that they were already working on the rival title at Infinity Ward using Activision money, tech, etc. I think there's more to it but I haven't followed it as much as I'd like to.
Mr.Bun: They only started working on the Xbox 360 version in 2005/2006, even then it's Too Human in name only, the original game was supposed to be different and it's apparent from the screens/videos on sites like IGN.

thehitman: There was a story recently that an ex IW staffer basically confirmed rumors that EA and other studios were trying to poach Zampella and West from Activision in 04/05. Activision probably has proof internally that something was indeed going down, they wouldn't have struck without it. Now that this studio has been founded it is basically the icing on the cake.

You should try UMK3, that one is pretty good. The series did start to decline until 4/Gold or so, Deception forward wasn't that bad.
MORTAL KOMBAT!! Good times with that game, I remember how polarized the classrooms, arcades, stores, etc were between Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter fans.
Dedicated servers get shut down too, you won't find very many games from 7 or 8 years ago that had dedicated servers that still do (official ones, not fan made).
