I'd be willing to give it a chance, I'm kind of hoping they return to a regular controller instead of going the board route. The old Tony Hawk games weren't bad by any means, just not as great as PS and the like.
You're going to have to explain things further since titles like House of the Dead, Goldeneye (mostly for the ragdolls), Perfect Dark, Conker, Resident Evil, Carmaggeddon, Mortal Kombat, Death Race, Alien vs Predator, etc existed around the time or in some cases before the PS1.
I named those titles because,
1. They were mature,
2. Largely asides for a few exceptions published by console makers on their platforms.

This is monumental! In a weird way the Atari of old is still somewhat connected to the Atari of today in more than just name (it kept on changing hands, getting split, etc). The fact that Bushnell is back in some form hopefully means good things for the company.

Quantic Dream is a third party company, only HR was published by Sony but I don't think one game is really enough to claim a developer is second party especially considering the other two titles they made were multiplatform.
It could be their CMS technology that resizes, converts, etc the images they upload. It doesn't have to be intentionally but then again I'm not very familiar with this site.
Apparently they found the files on their laptops, if that is true it's pretty damning since it most likely shouldn't have been on the laptops in the first place. The One of Swords podcast explained it better than I can. I think the original court documents also reference it.

Zampella and West aren't your average game developers,...
They have embargos which can be described as a "gentlemans agreement" where you agree not to release anything until a certain date. The most that can happen here is you are blacklisted by the company.
The other is an NDA, if that is broken you could get fired and sued into oblivion.
NDA's are rare, embargos are more common.
Every is automatically blaming Activision for firing Zampella and West, are they forgotten about why they were fired in the first place? Activision believes the two were taking company data from Activision secretly and planning on taking it with them to EA. Of course West and Zampella claim this isn't true, nothing is final.
I'm not saying that makes them right or wrong, just that nothing is set in stone yet.
This "rat" you talk about took over Activision when they were on the verge of closing their doors in the 90s.
Get your facts straight please, not matter what you might think of him he took am economic failure of a company and turned it into an industry leader on the financial side of things.

Well technically games were going below 720p anyway since games like COD 3/4, Halo 3, etc were already under 720p. I don't know if Microsoft gave an official reason but so far this seems to be a popular theory.
