Toshiba is pushing CELL (I have a CELL chip in my laptop, pretty useless at the moment though) so why wouldn't Sony? Although I can see Intel and CELL working together, in my Qosmio laptop for instance I have a Intel Core 2 Duo running with CELL running along side it, basically the Intel chip is the main chipset and the CELL chip is the back up one basically their to aid both the GPU and CPU if coders want that to happen, of course, only 3 applications do that so far, and their not very good ...
Consoles like the Genesis are still popular their because the market is flooded with them (And I kid you not, every other store will have a Genesis for sale in the original box), games are easy to find and are cheap. Because of the way the economy is in India the Genesis is a really popular item among people, forget about current gen, a majority of them are happy with 16 bit!
It would be interesting to see what Blue Castle could do with it, all they've done since founding was baseball, if they are indeed the developers lets hope they can transition well into other fields, although I haven't played any of their past games so I can't comment on the quality.

Sega Rally was one of the best games on the Dreamcast, albeit hard as hell! Good to see the good ol Dreamcast is still breaking records in 2009! :P
Midway is the last "true" American game developer that is still around, they've been here since the days of the arcade, all the other companies have either shut down or are in such a broken state that you can't recognize them!
So far all the previews I have read have given it great praise.
Why am I not surprised?
The Dreamcast was huge competition for Sony, it even outsold the PS2 a few times if memory serves correctly. Sega also had exclusives and superior ports of a few games which drove people to the system, because of bad management from Sega of Japan both the Saturn and Dreamcast ended up having a horrible run. If Sega of America was able to run things like they wanted to, perhaps Sega would still be in the console wars!
At a time when classic conventions in all industries are shutting down E3 doing its best to see another day definitely isn't a bad thing.
It was definitely a good year for the Wii, although due to Sega alone 2009 looks like a really good year for the Wii, I admit it's starting to tempt me now!
For Microsoft buying exclusive DLC is nothing, especially considering the return they will be getting from the DLC. It will probably be advertised as a full on expansion pack to GTA 4.
With studios like Rare, Lionhead, and Turn 10 they obviously have a backup plan.
Funny how the world likes to ridicule when they only have half the story. Regarding the Ensemble closure, how do we know the guys at Ensemble didn't want the studio to shut down so they could form a second party studio? Or how it will play into the grand scheme of things, compare the layoffs at Eido`s to those at Ensemble previously, how many ex Ensemble employees came out and revealed all the dirty little secrets?

Aside from Killzone (Excluding 1) GG's has been a really mediocre studio.
