Why the disagree? They teach you this in Business 101, a product with a brand name behind it is likely to sell better then something with a upstart name behind it.
Um, this purchase is to benefit Microsoft has a whole, they do have other things to make money from as well you know.
Besides, Microsoft has 7 first party developers and roughly 5 second party studios (since the new Ensemble start ups have not made their plans clear, it could be more), not to mention a ton of ip's.

Nothing new, a good deal for the company being bought. Why? They have the capital for those 14 products they are working on and the odds of their motion tech selling are even better now that it has a recognized brand name behind it.
The original Xbox used it well, it had a partition set aside for caching, since it was mandatory for all Xbox models it was used really well.
When your in the mood for gaming would you really want to wait 20 or so minutes for lets say DMC 4 to install? Odds are it will just discourage you, or if you have some time to kill and want to get some gaming in, 20 minutes can go a long way.
Within 1-5 minutes I'm fine, any longer and it might be a stretch on consoles at least. I've had to wait a few hours for PC installs at times, dedication at it's finest when you game on a PC :p
I wouldn't go as far as saying they are lazy, stuff happens during the development process that may force their hand. Although optional installs are much preferred.
Not a bad reboot, I personally didn't mind the Dreamcast Prince of Persia, that was fun.

Regardless, Bobby Kotick is still a genius business man, first he bought a company for less then 500k, a company losing nearly $30 million a year. In a few years he turned said company into the industries juggernaut.
Now, he was able to pull a few strings to make it look like his company was going to drop support of the PS3. Threating Sony saying that if they don't have a price drop withing TWO YEARS ...

When it comes to resolution there are only a few moments where you may actually be able to tell (ex, a sign with text on it), there really aren't very many moments in games where you would notice a resolution issue.
