Or they might be waiting for games to actually be released. The Wii U has barely any games in North America but the Wii U has HALF that number in Japan. No Sonic Racing, no Darksiders II, no Scribblenauts, and the indie games are even worse. There's only Nano Assault Neo, and that just released 2 days ago. The Japanese Wii U is a gaming desert. I don't know why anyone would buy one right now.

When games are finally released and the Wii U stil...

Erm, this title is a bit misleading.

The article says 4.6% of developers are CURRENTLY developing a Wii U game and 6.4% are planning to release their next game on Wii U. I don't know if those overlap or not. If not, that's 11%. Also 11% of developers said they're next game will be released on the PS4 and 720.

The survey is a little vague, but the Wii U seems to have more support than the title suggests.

@EliteGameKnight

You're half right. Bucharest did the Assassin's Creed 3 port so that team does have experience with the Wii U. Ubisoft has tons of teams, don't they? ^_^

@Realplaya

Are you asking me for proof about the Wii U version? That it's harder to develop for? To my understanding the PS4 and (supposedly) the 720 are both based on x86, a PC standard. I'm assuming the Wii U is harder to develop for by just looking at the launch games, though some devs said they were based on low powered dev kits and unfinished developer tools. The developer tools have greatly improved since then and of course the dev kits now have the correct spec...

According to the fine people at NeoGAF, Bucharest is doing the PS4 version as well. I don't know where they got that info though. Montreal is doing the PC version and the consoles get ports.

The PS4 and 720 ports should turn out great since they are both based on PC architecture. I'm curious how the Wii U will turn out with it being all custom and supposedly not super easy to develop for.

From the article: "Now we ask ourselves, is Sony making these same mistakes with the PS4? The answer is a sure fire… NO! Sony is thankfully doing everything right so far with the announcements they have made regarding their upcoming console, the PS4."

LOL. Oh, it's one of these articles. Couldn't the author just put that line in the title?

Still no Trine 2. Nintendo should be publishing all the NA/EU indie games in Japan. The Japan Wii U eshop is a desolate wasteland.

But, you can play the Wii version on the Wii U already... and it's like $12.

The separate screen co-op will be good, though. The split screen co-op was a little disorienting in the other versions.

What's the point of a video game if you can't murder everything?

4722d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Well, I guess it's different for everyone. I personally thought it was a great game and felt I got my money's worth. I played it more than Kid Icarus. Of course I would have preferred twice as many original levels than the remixes they did, but I found them challenging and fun at least.

@FriedGoat
I don't know about the DS but installing the Homebrew channel on the Wii is pretty darn easy. I don't use it for pirating games, just for messing around with homebrew.

Mario 3D Land wasn't 5 hours... I put 18 hours into mine. I would a agree with you that paying $60 for a five hour game (Aliens: Colonial Marines) would be a rip off. Although I'd probably just not buy it instead of pirating.

Here's a popular neogaf thread...

According to the article it is indeed about pirates and will take place in the Carribbean.

All I know is that PS4 graphics in 5 years will blow these launch games away. It doesn't matter that some people were impressed with the footage so far and others weren't.

Sign me the f*** up for 1080p 2D Symphony of the Night style Castlevania. I would buy that game so hard.

I agree a surprise port of the first Bayonetta would be a nice but unlikely addition. I can't help but notice your comment had some subtle trollish undertones, Mr. PS4isKing_82 with PS logo avatar.

(Edit: If I'm wrong, I apologize ^_^)

Nice! It looks like a game with a lot of content, especially after seeing the trailer of Chase climbing a castle. It's on my must buy list.

I don't know if I buy that the gamepad is absolutely necessary, though. The gamepad used to be absolutely necessary for Rayman Legends and suddenly it's not. I'm sure the pad will have some nice features and I'll be happy to use it, but I doubt Lego City will be the game that proves its necessity.

LOL that was the shortest article I've ever read. Why didn't the author just tweet that?

By the way, what has Disney become? They need to grow up. When I was a kid I loved Aladdin but now I want to see hot girls in bikinis, crazy car crashes with explosions, and hear sentences that have more curse words than adjectives. I don't know how anyone can still be a Disney fan when everything they make isn't directly catering to my (18 to 35) demographic.

Wait, what? Are you saying the casual gamers are the ones doing the pirating? Or are you saying the only people that buy retail games are casuals? I don't pirate games but it certainly isn't because I lack the technical knowledge to work a bittorrent client.

I agree that each pirated game doesn't automatically equal one lost sale, but SOMEONE has to pay for games or else there wouldn't be any games to pirate. I want to support the industry I love. It's the...

I agree other devices use Google Maps with similar features but this is certainly the most polished version. That's about it really. It does the same thing but better.

I know, console wars and all that, but just give it a shot. It's a neat little app. It's not AMAZING but it's well put together.

I've noticed that too, especially since I'm one of those people that switched their stance. At the start of last gen I was all about the Wii60 combo. The PS3 was just so expensive and the "get a second job" comment wasn't funny to a guy studying his a** off in college with all money going to tuition (and beer). Also Halo was the college student's national past time. But, now that we're at the end of the generation, I find myself much more fond of the PS3. Some am...
