This proves that LBP is indeed a system seller. ;)

I think people who compare it to second life are missing it's purpose entirely. Home as I see it is a social hang out for gamers who want to make new gaming friends to play games with. For example, I'm not the biggest FPS fan out there, and though I did enjoy RFoM and Gears 1, I do not own Call of Duty 4 as it didn't really click with me. That being said my friend, "Joe" <real name hidden> is a huge fan of CoD4, but hardly gets to play it because we typically play games we all...

I agree, but anything is better than letting some one put in a rating with no comment and a non verified email address like they do now. It's just ripe for abuse, and it's apparent that some fanboys did just that.

Speaking of cynics I popped over to metacritic to see how LBP was doing, and noticed the user rating is down to 5.9 with over 1400 votes, and yet not 1 actual comment. This is down from 6.5 yesterday with around 1000 votes... I've totally lost respect for Metacritics user rating system as it's blatantly obvious that there are a bunch of fanboys butchering this games rating. Pretty pathetic that the gaming community as a whole has to suffer such stupid abuse if you ask me.

I think Gears 2 will be a good game... scratch that a great game, but it's doubtful there will be anything innovative enough in it to justify it earning GOTY. Yes it has more stuff on screen than Gears 1, and it looks like the graphics have been upped a notch, but at this point I've not seen anything that has made gears 2 stand out in my mind more than other games. Honestly Resistance 2 has made greater strides in catching my eye than gears 2 has at this point, but even Resistance 2 doesn't h...

So many people here don't seem to realize that a HD download of Blu-ray quality is going to be relatively Huge, and until the world is wired to handle files that large, companies remove 250GB or less download caps and we have triple digit terabyte drives to store the stuff on HD downloads are simply not going to supplant a physical medium for anything other than limited area rental purposes.

I think it was frustrating to find a flaw in my level, and how I constructed it. I had no idea that the emitter I originally put on the entrance door and then later detached and deleted caused my entrance to also get detached. It slowly got nudged into a bad location that caused people to spawn at the end when I published it the first time. That being said typically the frustration was not having spent enough time learning how stuff work, and assembling something complex that hinged on a fals...

Imagine having a vehicle you have to ride to jump a ramp to cross a gap. For what ever reason the physics of how you are holding on cause the vehicle to crash in to the pit of spikes below killing you. You re spawn back at the last check point, but when you get to the gap there is no vehicle there as the individual didn't include an emitter to make a replacement. The only thing you can do is jump into the gap full of spikes, run back the other way searching for a non existent alternative path...

I've played through a lot of the top rated levels, and several of them got there from being loosely based off existing well known media (Shadow of Colossus for example), but despite many of them being entertaining some lacked escape clauses for their hazards. This meant you could get stuck with lives left, and no escape other than restarting the level or returning to your pod. I honestly wish a few people play tested the hazards on some of their levels before publishing them so we could enjoy...

I would hope they check a bipartisan fact checking web site like factcheck.org. It's fascinating to see how both sides distort things. That being said, I got a chuckle out of a couple of the images, but was disturbed by both the Tomb Raider one, and the second GTA one. Every time I look at the second GTA image I'd think of Weird Al Yankovic, and for the life of me I don't know why... But it sure does make my skin crawl.

I can't agree that he made the right choice. Soon LBP will be the buzz of the school, and he will go running back to the PS3 again. Honestly, I think he should have kept the PS3 and gotten the Xbox 360 with that $300 he got for his WoW character. As it stands this kid is going to keep switching sides until either his mom says enough is enough, or he gets both systems.

I wanted to get a feel for how create worked. As someone who programs I find that the first time I do something I discover a lot along the way. All a reset means to me is when I rebuild my levels in the real McCoy they will be better, and will be built faster than they did this time.

I've only got the medium account and didn't see the answer box on the side, I herd that's only for premium members, buit I'm betting they get first dibs.

First off I work in the industry, and my studio has worked on several high profile games over the years. Has piracy affected me? Simple answer is yes. Long answer is not as much as this draconian DRM does. You see I'm all for simplistic protection schemes, because as spore shows if you get to heavy handed about copy protection it will harm you more than help you.

Your average consumer who spends money on a program typically is fine with entering a serial number, or having to put ...

and even though it's basically an ugly block, it's served me well. I agree that most madcatz stuff is garbage, their thumbpad is probably their best product, and it's reasonably priced. The sony thumbpad looks, and probably fits, better, but if you can spare the usb port, and want to save a few bucks I think the madcatz one isn't that bad. There is also a game shark variant that is the same thing rebranded.

I suddenly had visions of McDonald's happy meals coming with various sack boy/girl incarnations... If this happens I'm sure my nephew will end up with the whole set.
