for some games. Pixel junk racers was one example of a 7 player game. That being said, I could see them adding wand support for LBP so you could have up to 7 friends playing instead of just 4. Think about some of the obstacles you could make where the people with the wands have to deal with each of the sack players as they do things on different parts of the screen.

I witnessed a 3D TV that didn't require glasses in the emerging technologies section; however, it was limited to a 30 degree viewing angle. That being said it was by far the most impressive Non glasses 3D TV I have seen to this date.

from watching 3D TV, or 3D Movies. It has to do with how our eyes focus on real world objects. When you look at an object in the real world your eyes focus on a given point you're looking at, and things behind or in front of that point tend to shift out of focus until you shift your focus onto a new point. The problem with 3D Movies, TV, and in this case games is that the focal point is not dictated by your eyes, but by a camera, be it real or artificial. Thus when the viewer tries to focus o...

Yes the other consoles were better because they were newer and more powerful; however, the 2600 was the console of it's time. Pretty much every one knows the 2600, and know it was the first game console with mass appeal. Most of it's games didn't hold up over the years, but it still had some games that despite their poor graphics were fun to play. It also had many firsts including, if I recall correctly, the first Easter egg with the game Adventure. Some game companies like Activision started...

The Atari 2600 will probably be in the top 5 simply because it was the king of it's day. I also think NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 will be the most likely for the top 5 unless hand helds and potentialy the wii are included. NES was the rebirth of gaming consoles after the mid 80's crash. If they are including current gen systems at this point one can hardly argue that the Wii has been amazingly successful sales wise, having the most rapid sales of any non hand held console in history up to this poi...

iplayer works off a similar technology, so this gives me hope that we may see Hulu, as well as other services, implemented in a similar fashion. Till then, I'll live with TVersity.

But there are some out now that are decent. Also using a ps3 as a Myth TV client is pretty cool.

The elite model that is sold out at game stop is the model with the HDMI cable, the new version with out a HDMI cable is still available, and in stock. I believe the $299 model is the model with out the HDMI cable.

but if Sony were to make the ps3 backward compatible again, then when a persons ps2 dies there is a high probability that they would just purchase a ps3, and though from our standpoint that sounds appealing, lets think about this from a business standpoint. Adding ps2 backwards compatibility financially gets Sony very little at this point, because as I previously stated most individuals will mainly use it for playing their existing game collection, and when they have money to spend on a new g...

No the loss of those of the backwards computability was a cost reduction measure that isn't related to the the processor size. I'm not 100% sure that other OS couldn't be added back at a future date, but it was probably not used by the majority of owners, so the demand wasn't enough to justify it's development for the slim.

It's my understanding, and I could be wrong, that patch 3.0 is going to be adding the Bravia Sync feature to all ps3's, as well as the bit stream audio and Dolby True-HD Audio. All three of these features should be patchable in the existing PS3's.

Secondly in regards to Other OS. I've got mixed feelings about it's loss. While it's true that many users didn't see it as useful, I feel the loss of using new ps3's as Myth TV clients is a little sad. Also look at all the colleges and ...

@IdleLeeSiuLung
People who own a ps3 and have some extra cash are far more likely to purchase a new ps3 game than a new ps2 game. Ps2 backwards compatibility is mainly wanted so people who have a collection of ps2 games don't loose their existing collection. Yes there are a few people with ps3's that would buy a ps2 game; however, it's far more likely that a person who only owns a ps2 will purchase a given game, because that is their console. Once a person moves on to a new console the...

play ps1 games on the ps3, as all versions of the ps3 have backward compatibility with the ps1. It's only ps2 games that are not available on all systems right now.

I think the world needs a Linux distro with an overhaul of some fundamental ways in which it works. I think the main issue with linux is how it deals with application dependent libraries. With windows libraries are intentionally made backward compatible, and to a degree forward compatible, thus libraries are typically kept in a shared location, but also have the ability to be stored in the application folder as well. The down side of mandatory backwards compatibility is that it can cause long...

The problem is there is gooey grey conflict in the law. People have the legal right to back up software, and the DMCA was supposed to be used to stop piracy; however, the DMCA also attempts to rob you of your right to back up your software. According to the individual he was modding the systems to allow people to backup their games, and is claiming that he didn't do it so people could pirate games; however, the one inherently could allow the other. The key thing here, to me at least, is was h...

With out some people suffering for some unjust crimes, silly laws can not be called into question. I always feel a little sorry for people who suffer unjustly. Guantanamo Bay is one such example, this could be another.

If people read the other articles, the individual in question is claiming he did not mod them for playing pirated games, but so that people could back up their games. Prior to the DMCA every one was legally allowed to make one backup copy of their software. The problem with the DMCA is it deprives people of that right by saying they can't break copy protection to do so. If the DMCA was use properly I don't think I would have an issue with it; however, there have already been many cases where ...

is the ability to check multiple search options for some form of a Boolean search. I want the ability to look for platformers AND also ones rated with the most stars AND also ones with the most hearts. I just don't understand why the search system can't locate just the best of a user specified kind of level.

It would also be nice if they had options to pick a range of star ratings. For example what if some ones level only averaged 3 stars, perhaps that individual may only want t...

Why not, YeLoD For Yellow Light of Doom (or Death). Used in a sentance, "Yeah my PS3 YeLoD on me yesterday." Anyhow, seems kind of silly considering how rare it is.
