Same. I've managed to snag a few consoles at launch in store or just waited a few months but had to go ahead and pre-order. It sounded almost too good to be true and have a feeling it will sell out fast now.
I still haven't decided if I want to preorder (either system)--I have never done it yet and its never killed me to either pick it up day one in a store or if sold out just wait a little while. In the end waiting just means you actually have more games to play when you pick it up. I'm usually an early adopter though (day 1 to a couple months after).
I liked what I've seen though but just not sure about when I'll pick one up. I'll probably end up picking ...
Sad but that's actually pretty true... not all games by any means but enough for a generalization at least.
I was quietly hoping it was Lost Odyssey 2--a lone wanderer in a wasteland with a jagged crevice would had suited it pretty well (the jagged earth actually looked sort of LO as well--from the beginning of the game). Granted I doubt they would show LO2 outside of TGS even if they did have it made.
I died a little inside even if I somehow knew a Halo teaser would have to show itself.
Personally I liked what was shown. I don't know if it is enough for me to want one day one by any means but it still looked good.
DR3 looked so much better than 2 (imo) but darker and grittier than the first as well (hope to see more of it in next few months). Ryse looked seriously cinematic although swordplay didn't come across as cool as the setting and other aspects (hopefully one of those games that plays better than it looks--sort of ACish swordplay as very con...
Ryse came out better than I was expecting to be honest and am glad for it. It looks highly cinematic and just hope it plays as well as it looks.
They are probably used to but not happy about it. Its always much more expensive.
Can't wait although still getting for PC.
"Progress"
From those that want to either hate on it just because, try to take the high road for those that aren't in our shoes, or are in fact those affected by the changes--then yes its still a 'bad choice'. What we can accept doesn't really make it a 'good choice' just an acceptable one.
I can see their point as there is no denying that consoles of the past and even today are still 'better' (or more accessible/consumer friendly at least) than what the...
Also get a snazzy voice activated remote control--will be a blast when someone is gaming and someone else comes into the room. Its been alluded that it can identify specific people somehow so hopefully when playing you can lockout other people from Kinect control (voice recognition or even body scale--depending on just how advanced it is).
I kind of like the entertainment aspect of it but still won't be why I would buy one. Never bought original Kinect for same reason. ...
Its my main concern actually although I would probably just rent games for PS4 (or older systems) so wouldn't kill it for me.
I actually wish Xbox was smart and talked to GF about it before hand so they could implement rentals somehow. In theory it should be possible to have a rental license and could enable the "keep" option with the one time license trade they mentioned.
I am still wondering what console and when will be first for digital ga...
@Lonesoul65's disagrees and those that seem to want it hacked:
I love the double standard--MS makes a system you aren't forced to buy which alienates a portion of gamers and then everyone says its okay for outside forces to disrupt it for 100% of it on "principle".
I could care less if you hate what MS is doing but giving a greenlight for someone else to do something worse doesn't make it better. If/when hackers do bring it down just ma...
It can't control my tv half as well--so take that!
Seriously though, I'm still probably going to buy both as long as the games are there. I enjoy their exclusives and just want to see what both companies (and even Nintendo to a lesser degree) bring next week to show off why I need them and which should be my first.
Between PC version of first and this trailer I have to say my love for Konami has grown.
I really love their games and they just know how to do trailers right as well.
People that play them. Same principle applies for console games--silly, huh?
I know you were (hopefully) trolling but still...
Advantage: when a game is broke, needs patched, etc there is a fix much faster than console versions. Half the time don't even have to wait for devs to do it for you.
But yes there is always some portion of PC users that get a raw deal out of it. Be it from poor optimization for some hardware, user error (playing it above what PC can handle), etc. Not all console games are perfect either (but uniform hardware makes it much, much rarer and exclusives for any platform i...
One of the most difficult/frustrating modern FPSers has to be Metro 2033 on hardest difficulty. Crossing the bridge in War (especially last push) and the escort mission is just annoying (first time through especially). Another good game though--just one that can be frustrating at times.
A good list though and not-so fond memories ;)
I don't think they're done but I do think they likely lost a large portion of the market share they had developed this generation. Sony could very well be on the verge of another PS2-like era when it comes to dominating the market.
