Yea, ya know except these cuts never even happened.
P.S. Microsoft actually cut more than 20,000 jobs in 2023, including thousands from their gaming divisions, mostly from studios they just purchased.
Sony laid off some temps and few executives/management and even if you want to call Bungie liars that still only 100 people.
Glass houses.
Who cares, Insomniac has their games laid out well into the next generation.

"MS doesn't really do much in the way of marketing the series platform."
You can't really believe that...
As for the hardware, another thing that isn't reported is the stutter SX has when games use high quality textures and the SSD simply can't load the data fast enough.

Ampere Analysis also tracks xbox total sales at 21m significantly less than vgchartz.
So it's quite possible that PlayStation sold more consoles in 2023 than xbox has sold so far this generation.
Just an FYI I am fully fluent on both Mac and Linux based software.
In you're original comment your trying to compare Indiana Jones to Sony having some Marvel games exclusive to their platform.
But you're doing the same false equivalency, the issue is that Microsoft bought the publisher making the game.
Again it was known that Zenimax had secured rights to an Indiana Jones game before it was officially announced by Microsoft.
Get those goal posts right outa here...
So you're saying that the justification for a obvious double standard on latency is acceptable due to PlayStation marketing the device as a "Remote Player" instead of a "Pro Controller".
Wow... just wow...
Having a console sooner doesn't matter if they can't sell it.
And 3'rd party game development is not going to leave PlayStation and it's 80-90m userbase, heck PS4 hasn't even been abandoned yet, and will still be getting games in 2026.
No one cares about Indiana Jones, people object to Microsoft buying whole publishers.
And just for clarity, it wasn't unknown it was known before Microsoft bought them.
It's interesting you say that, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was on game pass I seem to recall people and media saying how good it was, and it has an 80 metacritic and an 84 on this site.
And their prior game was Stranger of Final Fantasy which is on PSPlus now and I am enjoying.
And Nioh 1 and 2 are some of their best works.
I played the original when it came out, haha.
I also have already played FF7R just not Intergrade or on PS5.
But thanks.
True, I also expect it to be a very big year for 2'nd party deals like Rise of the Ronin, Granblue Fantasy: Relink and games out of Korea like Stellar Blade from Shift Up and NCSoft like Project LLL and Project M which seems to be a huge budget UE5 tech powerhouse. And of course Final Fantasy: Rebirth.
I expect the momentum to grow in 2024, Sony has a strong first quarter, and almost certainly a Pro console coming in the second half.
If they can manage a price cut on the PS5 and keep the Pro price reasonable or even bring it in at $500 PlayStation should do great in 2024.
I've been on a FF bender as of late.
I beat World of Final Fantasy (fantastically charming), I just started Stranger of Paradise (is this meant to be a comedy?) which I will roll into Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for the first time on PS5 then it's Final Fantasy Crisis Core, and by the time I finish that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth should be in my hands.
Some of what you say i would agree with. but I was just talking about the latency issue.
I am more or less talking about issues adjacent to this actual article. Like sites that gushed over streaming on xcloud but then basically told people that Portal was a bad experience because of latency. Which happened quite a bit.
And to be fair if you can get a good enough connection to use xcloud on your phone you can use the Portal via that hotspot just the sam...
It's funny that people talk about latency on the PlayStation Portal even though that uses your home network and provides a stable latency of single digit frames yet those same people would try to convince you that an unstable latency across that internet that could be double or triple or more digit frames with packet loss and retransmits is suitable for a VR headset.
This is pretty cool, I had no idea that this game would have choice based gameplay.
I double down on what I said.
I just want to add that $8m is only 265,000 copies at $30. The game will easily cross that.
So a game that Sony basically made happen in the first place but they are looking to Microsoft, Microsoft who is spending billions to buy studios to sever long term relationships these studios had with Sony, but Sony is looking to Microsoft...
All this is, is propaganda...
Microsoft is paying billions to try to replicate what Sony has been doing for 5 generations.
