15million or so copies sold and 85+ on Metacritic is an "unmemorable success" lol whatever dude.
Cool? Not being one of those "git gud" or "your not a real gamer if you don't like From" guys, but just don't play the game...There are dozens of games fitting your description that are very popular right now.
Battle Royale is the new TDM plain and simple. Fortnite captured lightning in the bottle like the Wii did, able to attract hardcore gamers, casual gamers, and people who had never played games before and many who likely won't ever again (not bashing Fortnite or anyone who plays it just a fact). Other will try to artificially capture the same magic and will fail if they can't first make a good game worth playing in the crowded space. The industry won't sustain multiple games that a...
Anything can be an addiction if you let it take over and (key word here) negatively affect your life, playing a ton of games, or obviously working in the industry aren't examples of addiction. Addiction isn't based on time spent doing something.
The media's obsession with video games and real world violence however is not based in reality or facts whatsoever. In fact it's the exact opposite, most studies definitely disprove the link between gaming and viole...
@RainbowBrite
Hey, we have absolutely no evidence that it's GAAS besides one interviewer saying it sounds like it may have GAAS elements to get clicks. If it's truly GAAS I won't play it. I make my decisions on the game itself not a single headline. Maybe me explaining that for the forth or fifth time will help you understand.
@PoopsMcGee
Rocksteady's game is rumored to be Superman not WB Montreal's.
@BeardedDrachen
Dude, can you read? Both the article and half the comments here are saying it doesn't include PC sales. Let me say it again just in case you miss it again. It doesn't include PC sales, it was successful on Xbox.
@Godmars290
True, cancelling it would obviously be worse. I just don't think they can leave it on 2/22 with Metro, Anthem, and Days Gone, I don't think it's the only one that ends up moving either.
Maybe check what else is coming out on Feb22 and think real hard about why they might move it a couple weeks forward or back.
Or three huge games are coming out same day?
Metro is the best looking game on that date, don't forget about it.
Another delay or release date change would be due to all the other games on that date, not any trouble with the game. The worst thing MS could do is leave it on that date to get buried.
The article clearly says that it doesn't count digital sales or PC digital sales. It also doesn't count Gamepass. So that essentially just leaves Xbox physical sales. It's not anyone "trying to make it like it's ONLY on Xbox one" its just basic reading comprehension, try it sometime.
Would love to see more third party games launch day and date on Gamepass.
Whether they're games that I would have bought (Ashen, Afterparty) games I might not have had the time or money for (Crackdown 3, We Happy Few) or games I probably wouldn't have bought (Vermintide 2) it's a great value and awesome way to highlight games and get people playing.
Glad to see SOD2 up there, hopefully an increase in support and budget can get those technical issues ironed out for their next game and possibly help it do even better.
And it's so awesome to see GOW and Detroit up there Sony's proving to everyone SP is here to stay and can out up some huge numbers and with Spiderman in Sept they have another chart topper on the way.
@AgeInTheCage
Maybe you don't know what a sale or promotion is...here let me help you out since you'rer clearly having a hard time. A promotion or sale is a price drop to incentive a purchase. So using common sense and our new knowledge of definitions we know MS is not "forced" to give it away for $1 to get subs. Gamepass is a huge success and they are incentivizing more people to use it by dropping the price.
@xfiles2099
Would didn't know anyone was forced to buy games tho with how desperately fanboys like you tried to defend games like The Order it kinda looked like you were forced lol.
I never said MS didn't need to do better with exclusives but they still have a number of awesome exclusives out already plus with Gamepass I only need to download 2 new games per year to make my purchase worth it with what they showed at E3 it validates my purchase 2 or 3 time...
@RainbowBrite
No, that's not what I'm saying, the only one to say GAAS was the author not the dev. Remedy has consistently provided great narrative SP experiences we have no reason (right now) to expect any different with Control. I mentioned on another thread that it sounds like they could so something like Prey did with Mooncrash and have a roguelike survival style mode. I'm not at all one to defend GAAS style games but let's see what Control is before we dismiss th...
@monkey602
Wow I forgot Alan Wake was that long ago. I'll adjust my time then lol from Max Payne 1 to now. Also Quantum Break was a good game imo.
@BiggerBoss
Bioware's most inexperienced team was rushed and had to outsource facial animation stuff, if I'm not mistaken. Super unfortunate that EA rushed it, 6-8 more months would have done this game some good.
