that's bad news. Technology evolves. End of story. The PS2 can't last forever. To only talk about past success when asked about current endeavors sounds very shaky. Oh, and DJ, approaching 10 million sold in the first year for a console that's $400 (plus games and extras) is still good. The PS2 sold around 9 million the first year and it was priced significantly less. Also, its competition was nothing compared to the impending launches of the other consoles that the 360 faced and it was also...

Resistance, while a solid shooter, offers absolutely nothing new. Everything it does offer has been done already, and is done better in other games. The only thing that Resistance has that is getting it attention is the fact that it is currently the ONLY good game on a fledgling, hype-fueled console. Honestly, if the PS3 had launched with at least a handful of quality games, Resistance wouldn't be talked about nearly as much. As it stands, it is currently the only thing PS3 fans have to justi...

Oblivion has great graphics, came out on the 360 at least a year before the PS3, has over 200 hours of gameplay on the retail disc, has another 20 hours of DLC, and has an expansion pack on the way.

COD3, Rainbow 6, etc. are all the same length on the PS3 version as they are on the 360 version, yet the 360 versions have better online, run smoother, and have better graphics. Therefore, one could say the 360 versions have better longevity.

Shooters, in general, are...

Although I think the main thing holding the PS3 back is price, if Sony does cut it, not only will they fall into a bigger financial hole, but it will look like they are begging the public to buy their product, one that currently is collecting dust on store shelves.

Everyone knows Nintendo is making money on each Wii, and the 360 has been out long enough, so either of these two can make a price cut whenever. Honestly, the PS3 is stumbling so badly that I think a 360 price cut is...

There are certain companies that RARELY make exclusives. EA, Ubisoft, THQ, 2K, etc. Plus, no where has it been said that this game is exclusive. Wait until the publisher/developer announces the exclusivity before you claim it to be so. They actually have to use the word "exclusive", not "currently only plans for". The word "exclusive" implies that MS, Sony, or Nintendo actually paid money, even if it's just for a "timed exclusive". "Currently only ...

Why you ask? Because they're on either system. What you should realize is that it's sad for PS3 fans, that a game that scores this high lost PS3 exclusivity and migrated over to the 360 with the likely inclusion of online play. Ouch.

As for Crackdown, you obviously haven't played it. It's incredibly fun. It's gotten good reviews from other sources and besides, what's wrong with a 9? Resistance only averaged about 8.5.

how can you know 'for sure' that games like Lair, Motorstom, White Knight, Heavenly Sword, Killzone, etc. are going to be system sellers when they are games with no huge money-making history? Games like Halo, FF, MGS, GTA, etc, you know for sure are system sellers because they have built a HUGE fanbase and will guarantee sales for each iteration. So these PS3 games with no history or built up fanbase are 'for sure' system sellers, yet 360 games like Blue Dragon, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Lost ...

If you're ripping on Crackdown, you obviously haven't played the demo. Be that as it may, how can you dismiss Mass Effect, a game from arguably the best Western RPG developer. Bioware always puts out a great RPG. You can't say Bioshock isn't exclusive just because you say so. They've announced it as exclusive several times, so it's exclusive, period, and it looks amazing. Silicon Knights make great games, so you can't dismiss Too Human. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are made by arguably the be...

the, "Oh just you wait and see, in blablahblah time it's over". First it was, "Just wait until the PS3 launches, then it's over." That came and went with nothing ending. Now its, "just wait until a year from now, then it's over." What's going to happen then? Is Sony going to reveal that there's a hidden magic, supercomputer button that once you push it, the PS3 transforms into the greatest piece of electronic equipment that ever graced this planet......and makes ...

for the sole reason that how can you not be interested to check out Live Anywhere? I really want to see PC Gamers and 360 gamers duke it out in a MP shooter. The PC and 360 are the two best systems for shooters, now they can go head to head. Plus, the game in and of itself looks fun. The graphics aren't jaw-dropping, but the gameplay looks tight.

why would they put in a scaler and not use it? Doesn't make any sense to me. Seeing as how Sony is trying to force feed bluray, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to force feed their own 1080p TVs, hence the exclusion of a scaler. Either way, that's subpar stuff from the 'king of consoles.'

so by your definition of 'unbiased', you mean scoring the PS3 games higher than the 360 games. Wow, then you actually call someone else a fanboy. That's some funny stuff.

Well Crackdown gets the honors of being the first game where you could do that, with the exception of maybe Burnout. I like how it not only rained cars and car parts, but then the street traffic just lazily drove through the carnage, dodging the car bits.

I would think it's more exciting than the PS3, seeing as it doesn't look like people want the PS3. I'm sure that anyone that even remotely games on the PC would want Vista.

I agree, this demo was great. I was really looking forward to Crackdown, then it sorta slipped my mind. Now I realize again why I was looking forward to this game in the first place. Good stuff. Definate purchase.

it sold better than the other two this holiday season. Before you use the 'limited stock' argument for the PS3, the PS3 was very easy to find after only a couple weeks after launch. VGcharts is also far from official, about as official as Nextgenwars, where the 360 has over 10.5 million. So far this gen, MS has been very good at pulling things out of its hat at the perfect time (ie. 1080p announcement, etc.), so I wouldn't be surprised if this 'bad' announcement isn't in preperation for a 'go...

But there have been rumors about a new SKU. Also MS stated over a year ago that some time in 2007 they would release the 65nm chip 360. Both of these may factor into clearing out stocks and manufacturing plant re-tooling. Additionally, the success of the Wii may have had some affect on the 360 and PS3 sales, although I think it is due more to the higher price. At least, as far as MS is concerned, the PS3 is doing far worse than expected and the 360 did sell better than the other two this holi...

It's 47 tracks across 12 environments. Go to the Forza 2 website if your fanboy brain doesn't believe me.

If had a dollar for every time a fanboy sticks his foot in his mouth, I'd never have to pay for another video game for the rest of my life.

It's actually 47 tracks (ribbons) across 12 environments. Geez, panic much?

6931d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

First off, the 360 is capable of HDMI. It outputs digital. The protective measures for the new hard media formats aren't going into effect until around 2011. This gives plenty of time for MS to manufacture or outsource for an adapted HDMI cable. MS has said repeatedely that if there is a demand for it, they will make one, there are just no announcements at this time. Your information on the HD-DVD add-on is wrong. There is no 'limited time' on its usage. Either you have been deceived or you'v...
