...over 100 million PS2 owners. In reality, neither company counts replacements as another sale. However, if your system dies out of warranty and you buy another one, that would count as another sale. With the PS2 being around for so long and with Sony's bad optical device woes of a few years ago, many millions of PS2s were repurchases, especially since the PS2 got so cheap. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you got 4 or 5 years out of the sytem before it died, but it still goes against ...

You point to ONE source, how about all the articles on 360 graphics being better than PS3's (IGN, Gamepro, Game Informer, Gametrailers, G4, Joystiq, etc.)? Do you realize that 2 of your 4 reasons to get a PS3 aren't even available yet on the PS3 (Home/Rumble)? Who cares about Home? It's just a concept. Who knows how it will really turn out? Why don't you wait until it is released and see what it actually ends up being, then hype it if it's worth it. I wouldn't use motion sensing on the PS3 co...

Either way, it's irrelevant as everything is linked to your gamertag. Therefore you can get everything again for free. This is really a non issue.

It's funny how ignorant fanboys are. The problem is, they hate the 'other side' so much that they don't pay any attention to it. Therefore they don't know anything and just make fools of themselves posting ignorant misinformation. Actually, this article is pretty ignorant, too. The movies you only get for a limited time anyway, so yo...

The original Xbox had Hi Def, long before the 360 or PS3. The original Xbox also had a standard HDD, long before the 360 or PS3. It was also black.

As for the Sony fanboys bashing MS with this move, this 'elite' version really isn't targeted at directly competing with the PS3 for gaming (the 'premium' 360 is already doing that and currently winning). This 'elite' version also isn't targeted at making previous 360 owners buy a new one. HDMI is NOT needed for gaming. I'll repeat,...

....he says the PS3 will now sell more because there's more in stock. Obviously this guy didn't do his research, because they've been in stock in the US since the 2nd week of December. It wasn't much different in Japan. Also, the reports coming in from the French launch say the same tale. PS3's were available, they just weren't purchased.

The PS3's sluggish acceptance has nothing to do with stock. It has three major hurdles: higher price, lack of games/features, and stiff compe...

Therefore, these games are just the same as 1st party as far as never seeing the light of day on another console. Right off the bat you've got Gears, Alan Wake, Halo Wars, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Mass Effect Trilogy, Too Human trilogy, etc. that fall into this category. Not to mention the games made by companies owned by MS, like Halo, Forza, PGR, Fable, Viva Pinata, Shadowrun, etc. which are 1st party.

So while Sony may have more employees working on g...

Too Human and Mass Effect are both published by MS and deals for both were made for trilogies. Therefore there will be 3 Too Humans and 3 Mass Effects that are all exclusive to the 360. Ninja Gaiden 2 and DOA are fair game but its creator has said that Ninja Gaiden 2 will at least be on the 360 first (no financial deals were made however so things could legally change). MS has done a very good job of suring up nearly all of the big ones for the 360. The only two I can think of that are kinda ...

...not the antics MS pulled, while childish they didn't bash the PS3 like Sony did to the 360. They also didn't spread false information about the PS3 like Sony did to the 360.

Either way, though, the important part of the story is how little the PS3 sold and how few people actually showed up to these events. This seems even worse than the luke warm reception the PS3 had in both NA and Japan.

I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. Sure, he's a ridiculus fanboy, but as there are a lot of them this isn't why you should ignore him. What is, is that he's the king of saying the most ridiculus, tabloid-like rumors that have absolutely no hope of coming true.

That being said, all third party games are fair game. Games like Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Fable, Halo, Gears, Alan Wake, Forza, PGR, God of War, GT, Zelda, etc. will never go to another console as they are eithe...

I wouldn't use Oblivion to promote the PS3, if I were a Sony supporter. The PS3 version is being released an entire YEAR later. You can only really compare games with the same development cycle. Once the cycle changes, the games are no longer comparable as developing techniques advance over time just like anything else. Additionally, more time spent on something simply means more time to make it better. What would the 360 version look like today if Bethesda spent the past year working on it? ...

download it and see for yourself. Besides, why are we comparing a version of a game that will be released a full year later than the previous version again?

Second, even if they get to 3k, 5k, even 20k signatures, is that really going to make up for the millions of DMC4 units that will be sold on the 360 alone? Um, no. This doesn't even count how many will sell on the PC version. All this does is group together a bunch of really sad haters.

Only a couple of the Sony fanclub have commented on this article, so hopefully that means that most of them didn't fall for it. For those that did, however, (achira, r1000, etc) during the first 4 months of the 360 lifecycle, the 360 was also being shipped to Europe. This created a stock shortage in the US causing the 360 to be sold out until March. As for the PS3, during its first 4 months, it was not shipped to Europe and units could be readily found at US stores starting in the 2nd week of...

....just mindblowing. It happens all the time. Why aren't you complaining when Sony releases the same TV a year later with an extra HDMI port or HD Tuner or whatever? Why aren't you complaining when Toyota, Ford, Honda, etc. etc. release the same model of car a year later with added features? Why aren't you complaining when Apple released the Ipod Nano a couple years after the Ipod mini which was released shortly after the Ipod? Why aren't you complaining when computer manufacturers like Dell...

If Rockstar owns it (most likely) then they can do with it what they want, including making exclusive deals or not or finding a new publisher, unless of course MS buys Rockstar. If Take 2 owns it (much less likely) and MS bought Take 2, then MS would own GTA.

....who wins the format war. This is precisely why MS opted not to put an HD-DVD or Bluray as an internal drive. MS supports HD-DVD for obvious reasons, but they only really half support it. As anyone with sense already predicted, the new movie formats have done nothing for gaming. HD-DVD could have received a real boost if MS had incorporated it internally in the 360, especially since the 360 is still outselling the PS3 in the US, but MS doesn't really care all that much seeing as you can ge...

....just like Xbox fans getting a port of GTA:San Andreas. However, I was just pointing out that getting Ninja Gaiden 2, a new game like DMC4, GTAIV, Resident Evil 5, etc., is really where the victory for PS3 fans would be. Playing Oblivion on the PS3 will be cool, but it loses something when it's already been played by 360 and PC fans for a full year.

...Mass Effect as a trilogy is a 360 console exclusive.

Sony being big is good and all, but EA is huge and their quality has suffered for it. Motorstorm averages an 83.1% (gamerankings) and is hardly a system seller. I agree with you on God of War 2, great game, but sadly it's not on the PS3 and the PS3 could really use it at this point. Resistance is a solid game, but doesn't compare with Gears or Halo. I hope some of the Sony produced games turn out like God of War, but MS ha...

Any Sony fan saying it isn't is just being bitter. This a blow to Sony, but not the end of the world. It is time to get a bit nervous, though. First GTA, then Unreal Tournament, Resident Evil, Assassins Creed, Virtua Fighter, a few others, now DMC. However, the two biggest Sony 3rd party games, MGS and FF, are still intact. If those go then look out. Sony does have some solid 1st party games, but I think overall Sony as a 1st party developer/publisher ranks below both MS and Nintendo as far a...

....a glorified port. Xbox fans played that game years ago. A victory for Sony fans would be getting Ninja Gaiden 2 at the same time as 360 fans. So far that is not the case.
