Kornbeaner - Re-read the article. The 360 can output 1080p native as said by MS many, many times and said by this article you supposedly read. How can you read the article and then say the exact opposite? Also, unlike the PS3, the 360 can also upscale. This is separate from outputting 1080p native, which it can also do.
Deepbrown - Did you read the article? The 360 does have 'true 1080p', which means simply can it output 1080p natively. Again, the answer is YES. Just like the P...
...amount of people who game, have been gaming for years, and the amount of people that do research on something before they buy. You forget that at every electronic store, there are kiosks from all three consoles makers and the PC up all over the place. Not everyone buys things blindly. People ask questions, people read reviews, and people look at spec sheets (although most just ask someone). All someone has to do is look at the 360 or PS3 kiosk, that's right next to the Wii kiosk, and see t...
I've always like Nintendo, good for them. However, I really don't see the success continuing for years and years. There's too really big hurdles for Nintendo. One is the games. There just aren't that many in development when compared to the 360 and PS3. Many developers also don't want to work with obsolete hardware. They would rather go forward than backward. All creators have grand ideas that are only limited by time and the medium. Nintendo has a very niche style of games, and this doesn't ...
In the interview, the only 'problems' that were mentioned were the 'chance' factor when two people are trying to chainsaw each other and the 'stunning' someone with melee. If someone jacked me in the face with the butt of a gun, I would be stunned for at least a second. If someone is coming at you with a chainsaw, just shotgun them. End of story. Doesn't sound all that 'problem ridden' to me.
This is the reason why I have absolutely zero respect for 1up/EGM. They're like the t...
So the only way Mercenaries 2 will stay PS3 exclusive is if Sony ponies up. Otherwise, it will go to the 360. Currently, and for the forseable future, there is more money to be made on 360 games. So it would only make since to make a game exclusive if money exchanged hands. If money exchanges hands, it's only smart to get stuff in writing. This is also one of the reasons why Sony is losing so many exclusives, they just don't have the money to keep them, especially with the 360 games selling l...
Both games, while not perfect, turned out great IMO. Two really worthy additions to my game library, and a lot of money for Capcom. Win, win.
My opinion of this game is just like this reviewer. It's pure fun. Most games have flaws and I'm sure this one is no different, but you just can't deny the fun factor. That's really what games are supposed to be about. This game is like a kid in a candy store. Or a 15 year old boy at a strippers' convention. Pure, giddy fun. The addition of co-op is almost too good to be true.
The article is horrible, but it does have one thing special. It's the first article in awhile that has both 360 and PS3 supporters agreeing.
The 360 has a built-in scaler that will upscale to the best resolution your TV offers. You can chose the display setting on your 360 dashboard. Games are still programmed in a native resolution, mostly 720p, but the 360 will upscale to 1080p if your TV offers it.
Unfortunately, the PS3 either lacks a scaler or, for some reason, it hasn't been implemented yet. Either way, the PS3 doesn't upscale, it downscales.
As for these ridiculus comments about 1080p only bein...
If you only go to PS only sites, sure you probably haven't heard of many of the 360 exclusives, because they are EXCLUSIVES. They won't be covered on PS only sites. Any and every multiplatform gaming site or mag has covered, in detail, Mass Effect and Bioshock. They are both HIGHLY anticipated games. In fact, multiplatform gaming media outlets cover almost every game.
The casual gamer doesn't know about Lair, Motorstorm, Warhawk, Killzone, White Knight, etc. either. The casual ...
....this is just a rumor until MS actually officially announces something. Secondly, current 360s can output digital. An adapted HDMI cable is possible, so nothing becomes obsolete as current 360s can be upgraded if MS choses to do so. Finally, seeing as nothing is official and you don't even know the Australian PS3 price, how can you possibly know that MS is introducing a more expensive console.
...Dead Rising and 8 months before Gears. Both games are high-end next-gen games. Additionally, COD2, Condemned, and PGR3 (some may argue PDZ, but I'll leave that alone) were all solid launch titles. The PS3 has Resistance. Sure, the PS3 will get better, but the reigning champ should have had a better launch, especially if one were to believe the hype.
Also, you seem to forget that the 360 launched in Europe as well as NA and Japan. The PS3 only launched in NA and Japan. MS act...
You know a log is pretty simple, too, but I'd rather game with something a little more advanced and capable.
Sony should stick to their strengths. Trying to compete with Halo is just a waste of time and money. As Sony fanboys love to point out daily, the Xbox brand is known for shooters, just look at the 360's controller. It's designed perfectly for shooters, much better than the PS3 conterpart. Secondly, Sony's online is a very poor substitute for LIVE and online play is a very big part of shooters. Thirdly, Killzone was a horrible game, purchased by almost no one. Finally, Sony's lack of the achie...
There have been countless patches that deal directly with MP gameplay. Tweaking weapons, stopping cheaters, adding functionality to menus, etc. While patching does allow developers to do less quality assurance, it also allows for gameplay tweaking, new levels, new skins, etc. Personally, I'd rather have it than not. If you research any game before you buy it, you can find out if it's got bugs/glitches before you buy. You can then wait until the game gets patched before you spend your money. N...
What makes VGcharts more accurate than Nexgenwars? What makes Nexgenwars more accurate than VGcharts? Answer: Depends on which side of the console fence you're on. Sony fanboys love to quote VGcharts because it shows less love for the 360. 360 lubbers will quote Nexgenwars because it shows more love for the 360. Personally, I'll take the average. Seeing as the PS3 (which is sitting on store shelves collecting dust) has about 1 million units as the buffer (according to Sony), the 360 most like...
The PS3 desparately needs an exclusive AAA game to increase its sales. The PS3 needs a concrete reason that people can see with their own two eyes, today, that justifies the PS3's higher price point and (so far) lack of quality compared to its competition. Obviously, hope and last generation fanbase isn't offsetting the high price and strong competition.
Japan console sales are not quite half of Europe console sales. Europe isn't even a third of NA console sales. So to put that in perspective, Japan isn't even 1/6 of NA. There's a real chance that in the next few years Japan may even be passed up by some of the smaller, yet quickly growing markets.
The importance of Japan is not the market size. The importance of Japan is the amount of developers from that market. Although things are changing with Japanese companies, like Capco...
Even then there was a Texas Instruments gaming machine and Keliko Vision shortly before it. So I'm not really sure what time period, or universe for that matter, that you are refering to.
That's because Sony got sued. Sony refused to even admit there was a problem until they got sued. Your 'great Sony customer service' as you call it was the direct result of the lawsuit. If you don't believe me, the settlement website is still up where you can read if you are entitled to money from Sony because of the mass amounts of defective PS2s.
