The same way you buy anything else.
Line drawn. I took the batteries out of my controller and unplugged the Series X. It'll take something pretty major to get me to turn around at this point. And to be clear, this isn't only because of the dwindling support of physical media, but just their general practices overall, such as not giving a shit about the quality of their games at launch.
That's what happens when you buy a company that's in the same business as you. There's a lot of people doing the same job, so they're going to save money by getting rid of people that aren't needed anymore.
@darth
Even if that so, why start shifting away from physical in the middle of a console generation?
It'd be nice, but if someone's going to license an high feature engine, they're just going to go for Unreal since that's what devs know and the pool of people to hire is bigger that are more familiar with that.

I'm not confusing anything. Sony themselves said that games going forward after Horizon Forbidden West will cost $10 to upgrade from PS4 to the PS5 version.

I haven't. I feel left out. Just like when getting passed over for kickball in elementary school.
"Except for you repeating the lie about charging for patches"
Why? He specifically said next-gen patches which is exactly what they've done. $10 if you want to upgrade to PS5 version after a certain game, which was a while ago now.
Maybe he just hasn't got to the other part that people rage about.
last year?
Phil said last year: "We are full speed ahead in our mission to bring players more ways to play their favorite games." Guess he left out the part about removing even more ways to play them.
Except there were holdouts. You know what those people got? A physical release.
Phil Spencer last year: "We are full speed ahead in our mission to bring players more ways to play their favorite games."
Yes, by abandoning the traditional way it's been done since the start.
Yep. I had last week off from work and was looking around a little bit to pick up something new to play. I saw something on Total War Warhammer III and looked into it, but I wasn't sure if I was up to spending full price on it, so I looked up the previous titles. The original one that came out in 2016 is still $60
Not everyone has game pass.
"They know the first was digital only"
Is it? Could have fooled me.

Because I only had a passing interest, didn't follow it closely and I'm not omniscient.
I watched plenty of people on youtube playing through it and it'd be pretty mixed. There's people who didn't want to even fight and tried to avoid fighting as long as they could or even just died.
