"Platform" lol - they cant say GaaS outright. Games as a service is 100% anti-consumer. Its EA's ability to charge more for less.
There is no positive here for us gamers. Hes just acknowledging they will sell off each part of the "platform"
I’m anxious to try it, but I was definitely concerned about them making the game feel less stressful than the first one by being able to just blast thru everything.
I absolutely agree with this take for the first game: it’s at its best outside of combat. Will be interesting to see how the second one plays
From that title I thought they were calling a 4060 card “low end”
Its great they are continuing to support it, but after fighting through so much of the launch bugs and general slog of some of the gameplay/mechanics, the idea of reinstalling it to jump back in now just feels exhausting. The updates do sound great though, especially for people who maybe are just finally picking it up
So a bunch of users violated the terms and usage agreement (which lets face it, they didn't read), and Nintendo revoked their online access. If gaming websites weren't able to create articles based on a few social media posts I feel like this would be a complete non issue?
And this is coming from someone who has no interest in the Switch 2
I mean, there is a reason why LCD has been dropped for nicer tech. Ill save my $500 for the OLED model
No source code, and a slew of original game systems/UX concepts that wouldn’t work well today.
He’s right; this would be an entirely new game, not a remaster.
Also I think the glory days of isometric/trimetric games are over. Would be shocked if someone invested the cash to remake this nowadays
Im sure players will have fun with it; but this is the exact opposite of why I enjoy their games. Hard pass from me
I hope DS2 gets the full DS Remake treatment because I did love this game a put a ton of time into it.
A graphical overhaul to bring it up to new age standards, and hopefully just make the overall gameplay a bit tighter (fix movement quirks and cooldowns to make it feel more fluid like other Souls games) I would absolutely snag it Day 1.
The amount of hate that the story/world in DS2 got seemed way overkill to me though. It just could use some new age po...
Fair, its better than a one time use code but it I agree with the point in the article. It still takes away from the overall experience (especially from a nostalgia perspective).
Buying a physical box, just to open it for a glorified QR code is a shitty practice but I can absolutely see it becoming the norm sadly.
The enjoyment of owning something physically is going away, now its just a paid trial of services you never really "own".
lootlevelchill --> lootlevelshill
Cost of shit is getting insane. All to play online... Thanks Sony
"Future proof our plans to continue selling slightly upgraded models over the next few years"
Its a proof of concept to use AI in place of a any type of actual game engine.
This is insanely impressive imo. Its not intended to be a great game to actually play
It’s wild to me that it’s such a pathetically short list of games, when they then go on to say “free upgrades depend on the game”. They can’t even promise just a simple “it will run at a higher res or framerate” type statement.
Man the entire Switch 2 launch needed more time in the oven. It’s going to sell because it has Nintendo’s name on it, but this honestly seems like a less interesting launch than the Wii U
Im shocked how unimpressive this launch is. Overpriced hardware and weak launch lineup... good reason to just hold out for the inevitable OLED model
This is no different than buying a remaster on a new console. If you own the game on switch, you can now buy the same game again, at a slightly improved performance for full cost again.
And people like to scoff at this, but TONS of gamers buy that shit.
Is it really a mod to just take a games graphics down to 480p rendering and look like complete crap, just to boost frames?
My entire perception of the Mafia series is "Pretty but boring". Im sure they were fun enough for some folks, but ultimately I never understood the hype around so many of these.
