Good point. They had the rumble mappings already done for the Xbox 360 version, porting that over should not have been a problem and should have been done.
Definitely, the controls are dependent on the game. My friend had trouble with MySims Kingdom and even Super Mario Galaxy because of the use of two hands with the Nunchuck. Pressing buttons with both hands while using the motion controls as well was too confusing for him.
I expected more from them in terms of the multiplayer. They didn't update the playlists very often so far (and I doubt they'll touch it anymore) and I expected more map packs.
Maybe it would topple Halo 3 every month if the issues were fixed. Or whatever is ahead of it on PS3 (since Sony doesn't provide data on the top games played on the PSN)
Very good points. CoD4 is a multiplayer juggernaut, but imagine how much bigger it would be if Infinity Ward put in a little more effort to fix the issues?
It's common knowledge for gamers, but the people MS is targeting with the Arcade and with these commercials is not the gaming crowd. They're going for non-gamers and new Xbox 360 users to try to capture that Wii audience. This target market does not know the limitations of the Arcade and won't just automatically skip over it.
I think you fully underestimate how stupid the general public is when it comes to gaming and electronics...
Sadly, most gamers end up being vindictive fanboys, just like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons
Some great points there! Hopefully fanboyism in games has hit its peak and will decline like the comic industry saw a few years back.
Yeah great point. Another case of licensing gone wrong.
I think everyone loved the Shrek 3 game and the latest Harry Potter game. There's some obvious places where licensing goes wrong.
To me, it depends, If we get solid titles, sure. But crappy movie-based game after crappy movie-based game and the like puts a bad taste in everyone’s mouth
Like someone said before, this is how things worked before Sony implemented the background downloading option on the PS3. While it does the install for you, it also handcuffs you into not doing anything else or even changing the screen to the XMB while this is going on. For larger downloads of demos and such, that's a decent amount of time.
If only Sony could implement auto-installs for background downloads...
I’m at Best Buy every couple days for various reasons, and these weren’t there last week when I was in the store. Since Best Buy and Walmart are where most gaming purchases take place for brick-and-mortar, it’s a big step to have this finally available to gamers a mere 2 years after the ps3 was released.
Snuggies should be everyone's forte. Haha. I wonder if anyone will take me up on the offer I made towards the end of the podcast...
And now you'll never be able to think of one without cringing
Wouldn't say that just yet. People know that the Xbox Points cards exist. No one really knows about these just yet. Hopefully Sony does a better job of getting the word out.
Yeah seriously. I snagged a $50 one. Gotta love Best Buy gift cards :)
They've been available at obscure places that people don't normally shop (like Speedway). This is the first time the PSN cards have been available at major retail chains like Best Buy, Walmart, etc.
If only everyone could provide continued support like Criterion does for Burnout Paradise, Incognito does for Warhawk, and Bungie does for Halo...
