That would be difficult since it's EA we're talking about here - they don't do exclusives and they have a close relationship with Sony (which isnt recent btw but extends all the way back to the PS1 when EA became the first publisher to back Sony and its new console).
Fact is that if EA had it their way ME2 wouldve had a simultaneous release on all 3 formats back in January.
In terms of sales FF13 was a lot more successful though; it sold 5m+ whereas ME2 has sold 1.6m and will probably just break the 2m mark now that its on ps3.
Gamescom is officialy as big as E3 judging by today's shows.
the "bonus" content might be related to ME1 without affecting the contract with MS.
320GB and 160GB; launching at £284.99 and £249.99 - pricing looks a bit weird to me
Does that mean it could be up for GOTY two years running? :)
ME3 will be multiformat from day 1 since EA dont do exclusives; ME1 was published by MS so that's not going over and they a 1yr exclusivity agreement for ME2.
I think there could be some truth to this- just a few weeks ago an EA exec was talking about how 3rd party exclusives are dying; this might be a hint. But the only thing we can do is wait and see.
No it depends on the publishing contract between the two companies eg Gears of War is published by MS and they probably have a water tight contract to make sure none of the Gears trilogy appears on another console.
I want to see Agent; Rockstar will be there since they are on the official exhibitors list. Also i want to see what Sony's UK studios are up to - i hope they revive the Getaway project and also reboot the Syphon Filter series.
Didn't he deny this? Or are we just assuming he's pulling a Jaffe on us.
I was kinda expecting this; only Sony seem to show up at all 3 major gaming shows (E3, GC and TGS). MS and Nintendo usually skip one but MS seems to be skipping two of them.
It's better that they say this now than have everyone find out on the day how low key an event it was...
I really hope theyve removed Tactical Insertions since people only use them to boost for killstreaks. Also is the Nuke in this game?
I thought that was just describing the game type ie Free For All.
It depends on the agreement between MS and Remedy: it might just be for Alan Wake and not any sequels, and also Remedy continue to own the IP. Thing is if the sequel is possible on the ps3 i dont see MS paying Remedy to keep it exclusive since it's not really a system seller.
A sequel still wouldn't sell that much IMO even if it got rave reviews; ME2 is a brilliant game but has sold a mere 660 000.
@ nickjkl
GTA4, like all GTAs, was made by R* North in Edinburgh; but ur right RDR was announced all the ay back in 2005. I think all this focus on GT5s development time just shows the anticipation.
I looked up a list of the exhibitors (check the official GC site) and both Rockstar and TakeTwo are on that list, so they will have a presence at the show.
I think they could show Agent at SOny's conference.
Rockstar dont really need time to breathe; like some guys above me said they are actually a group of 9 studios that have been taken over and rebranded "Rockstar" by TakeTwo; T2 also own 2K Games (Mafia, Bioshock etc).
Theres more than enough studios under T2's control to get all these games out.
I agree; we dont know much about the story of the trilogy nor about TLG but im assuming that since the boy has no horns he may be an ancestor of Wander from SotC; but your guess is as good as mine.
Also Ueda said he would like to focus on something different after TLG - an FPS if i remember the interview correctly.
There is a cockpit view for all the cars - this has been confirmed severa; times; difference between "standard" and "premium" cars is the level of detail in the interior.
