Of course they’re not using 3DS models. The Pokémon community is just full of toxic manchildren that’s throwing a tantrum because a developer wants to do the sensible thing and NOT include over a thousand characters, with associated attacks and such, into their game.
No Skyrim, no Breath of the Wild, no The Last of Us, no Grand Theft Auto V, no Red Dead Redemption, Jesus is this a bad list.

Not necessarily true. People forget how bad Directs used to be; it took years for them to become this good (and people kept watching them anyway). Similarly, Inside Xbox sucked (some would argue it still does), and yet viewership is steady.
Fans will tune in in hope no matter what.
As someone who has to write about them, I much prefer the Directs to the cringe-inducing stage shows most companies have.
Thank you Nintendo for pioneering the Direct format, and thank you Sony for understanding how great it can be. Excited to see what they have to offer.

Guys, read the actual article, it doesn’t talk about an “awesome story”, it just talks about how great the game is and how returning to it feels great. The “awesome story” seems to be something OP just added themselves?
I won’t say “best year” period, since 2017 will be hard to beat, but it looks like a stacked year nonetheless.
