But then what happens when you want to share it or another video you were watching on your tablet with the entire room? As far as I know, to do that on the PS4 you have to exit the game or change inputs on the TV to something that can do it since DLNA is not supported on the PS4. That's a waste.
What's stupid is having to leave a game to quickly do something and having to wait for it to reload every time. That was last gen. Multitasking should be built in for the next gen.
Perhaps this is why Don was canned. Personally I think they made the wrong call on the GPU. At the very least they should have built in enough hardware so that ALL games must run at 1080P. The RAM is less of an issue to me since most PCs don't have a problem with DDR3 for System RAM. It might have eaten into the profit on the console, but they wouldn't have the same perception issues. Either way i still think they should keep the Kinect since that looks like it will be a solid piece ...
@abzdine. Do you know of anyone who is getting a PS4 and not planning on getting PSN+? I don't.
I'm not trying to sell it to anyone I'm merely explaining why I and my family want it. I do my research, come to my conclusions and explain why I make the decisions I do rather than just say that I like one product over another. To me far too few people explain why they make the decisions they do and as a result we see some of the rampant fanboyism.
I'll take your comment regarding how I explain my decision into consideration. It always has bothered me how diffic...
The PC is fine, but its services are not as integrated and it costs a lot more to do this than on the Xbox One. My PC is in my office which I don't want anyone else to use. The Xbox One is for everyone and has the Kinect for my wife to use when she wants to exercise and for the kids to have grandma Skype and read to them before bed.
The Viacom deal is small potatoes compared to what MS has. At last count there were over 50 different partnerships with various cable/satelli...
To be honest, he's right in terms of the gaming. I'm not interested in the PS4 simply because its just better graphics than the PS3. Yes, there are some enhancements you can do with a better graphics engine, but really.. there's nothing that my PC can't do. The Xbox One on the other hand seeks to unify TV, Gaming (albeit even less capabilities than the PS4 in this regard), Communications, and the social aspects bring a unified experience that I am looking forward to.

Crap... This was at the far reaches of my radar in comparison to some of the other games for the Xbox One, but seeing it in action makes my hand twitch with anticipation. There goes another $40.
I have a $99/month business 100MB/s connection paid for by my business so I get unlimited unthrottled downloads. I get it that I'm the rare exception, but I'm good with it. No more disks for me.
I'm intending on going all digital this time. I've had too many disks misplaced, damaged, or even just not with me to go that route anymore. Steam is wonderful for this and now that I'm used to it, I'm not planning on buying anymore physical disks.
Exactly what detail are you looking for? I'm not trying to be combative, I genuinely am interested in what you think is missing.
From what I understand this is a replication of a real track that was laser scanned for realism. So... What would you like to see? Keep in mind that while the game runs at 60 FPS the video itself and the capture device and video playback probably run at 30 FPS.
Yep... Day One! Despite what the critics say. This looks really good.
@ aCasualGamer FYI Sony wouldn't be able to sell their console in the US if they didn't agree to the same policies that MS does so... yeah... And in case you forgot, yes you can unplug Kinect.
What will be interesting to me is how they plan on integrating the Halo TV Show produced by Stephen Spielberg with the game. It would be cool to be eternally immortalized in the show if you won a tournament by having your personal gamer tag or Spartan show up. I could even see them having weekly competitions in which the winner gets a special credit after the following week's show or even a Skyped interview. It could become very interesting.
I'm buying an Xbox One for other reasons than just gaming.
My wife wants to exercise with her family and friends and Skype with them for motivation (I'm the real winner there). While I actually want Forza, Dead Rising, and Rise, my parents and brother want to Skype to my kids in the living room for various reasons. I am looking forward to using it for the TV services since MS has already demoed it with Comcast and that is my service provider.
While I can und...
@parapraxis.
I'm not attacking you personally so please, let's be adults here and have logical debates.
I'm a gamer. I play PC, PS3, Xbox 350, I even got an Ouya just to try it out, and yes, I pay for PS+ and Xbox Live. For me and at least 40+M other Xbox gamers, the Live cost isn't a big deal since we freely pay for it.

So... I'm going to preface this as one of the people interested in TV, but what happens when MS forms partnerships with Cable or Satellite companies to sell the Xbox One on a 2 year contract for $99 - $199 down? They could even partner with a gym chain like Liftime fitness or LA fitness with a similar deal where you can get Xbox Live for free with these contracts and have access to a special class or consulting with a physical trainer who could group Skype with a class of up to 25 people ...
My understanding is that you get the same content you get in the preorder if you buy it within the first 14 days of release. I can't find the link for it so if someone knows differently, please let me know.
It may also mean that MS doesn't have a choice in this either. Remember that every communication system has to have a means of monitoring by law. Telephone services, Instant messaging, mail, email, etc have to comply with any warrant that is issued to provide access to the Justice Department otherwise anyone could use it for nefarious purposes. BTW Sony, Google, Apple, and any other tech company who has a home grown communication system has to do the same so this really isn't a big de...
