It depends on the game/type of game. Single player only games should be put out finished and complete, with a possibility for a patch if there are serious enough bugs.
Any game with a multiplayer component. Not just to keep things fresh but because there are vast amounts of statistical data that can only be gotten after release. Which then should be used to balance online gameplay to make it more fun for the people playing it.

It's probably a really good game, same as fallout 3 was a good game.
BUT
It probably like fallout 3 (and most multiplatform games) is loaded with a horrifying amount of bugs and glitches. Which had it been a less anticipated and advertised game by a smaller company would be mercilessly bashed into oblivion.

I'm sorry but I just find nintendo games uninteresting. I know their experimenting with slightly different styles with this game, and it's being received very well. I guess I'm just waaaay out of the target audience.
There looks like a lot more to do in eyepet though, I'm kind of interested in it for myself plus think my gf would love to play with it. Kinectimals looks like part of a larger game, or a mini game as it were.

Honestly they made camouflage effective in the game by limiting the colours of the world.
Sony have a six year plan, Every six years they release a new console every 12 they drop one so they always have two selling brining in revenue.

Edit. But a great game that gets a quarter or more of it's content cut becomes an average game.
Maybe not as a strict rule of game making but in games where most of what your playing for is long in depth story, cutting out massive chunks of the story hurts the game.
