It was probrably the most feature packed "paid" demo I've ever played...since GT Prologue.
Admit it, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is not the only exception.
Demo's usually don't last 5 hours and offer achievements/trophies. Many games don't last that long. Value, as always, is subjective.
Convergence isn't the end all be all. It only appears more so. Show me a cell phone with a DSLR camera lens and then we can talk. Secondly, show me a tablet or phone with a better e-reading screen than a Kindle/nook. Divergent devices will not go away when they are usually better in every way.
I definitely liked 1 more than 2. The first was more edgy and dare I say...epic. The color palette was more dark and foreboding and the story a little more cohesive. I said it before and I'll say it again, r2 didn't live up to expectations. They threw away aspects of the first they should have kept in. The multiplayer of r2 was pretty good though.
OSX is less prone to security vulnerabilities on account its marketshare is far less than Windows. Apple users shouldn't get too comfortable however as its only a matter of time before viruses target OSX.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is by far my most anticipated MMORPG. I've never been interested in the genre until recently. Final Fantasy 14 also looks top notch. Its kind of curious how Microsoft purposely has limited MMO's. I suppose time will tell if MMO's only succeed on PC's.
*looks up and down, shakes head*
There isn't a good defense for the PS3 this time boys and girls. The 360 has consistently sold more than the PS3 in NORTH AMERICA since the two started to compete. It DOES NOT MATTER that the PS3 made gains elsewhere in the world on account the article is ONLY about NORTH AMERICA. Get it through your collective hive mind. For some reason or another gamers in NORTH AMERICA consistently choose Xbox 360. If you do not understand the nature of...
Its a day one buy for me for sure. I've never seen anything quite like it. Also, the game may not elude to any religious influences, however the word "limbo" means a lot to me as a Catholic.
You must have a bad unit. In my experience the Xbox 360 Slim is the quietest device of the major three consoles. It's almost disconcerting how quiet the device is in comparison to the original. Installing titles makes the device completely quiet. I purchased my unit 2 days ago and couldn't be happier. My 40 GB PS3(upgraded to 80 GB) was undoubtedly quieter until recently although the Slim could present a challenge if I decide to upgrade. Gamestop has a $200 PS3 trade in deal for origi...
I didn't shoot anyone in the Moscow air port in MW2. Am I the only one? Its not like you were penalized either way, however I chose not to.
I would like both products to succeed to be honest. I love the Wii remote for FPS's so I am definitely excited for PS Move. Likewise, I'm not interested in Kinect casual titles, however I could see the peripheral integrated into core titles. Imagine a game like Deus Ex 3...you could use Kinect to scan your face and bypass security systems once you've made a hack in the game.
The measure of success for either device is entirely dependent on how many units Microsoft...
I already own Wipeout HD, so I'm not entirely sold on the idea of purchasing PSPlus. However...the service could end up offering an assortment of free content I've yet to purchase.
Do I need it or do I want it? Thats what every gamer should ask themselves. I'm not sure what camp I fall into yet, however the 3 months extra incentive is tempting.
I'm hoping Xbox Live Gold comes to mean something more than paying for online and demos early... I believe that Microsoft should provide a few services for free sans Gold membership. The better that Playstation Plus becomes, the greater incentive to improve...right?
Perhaps with a Gold subscription there will be an ad subsidized version. My guess is that Hulu Plus will be $10 with ads, just like the PS3 version. :-(
Your not the only one that was let down by Year 2 of Qore. I was very impressed with all the free stuff for the first year, however the second was a big let down. This is not to say that Playstation Plus will also offer less the following year, however its not a stretch to say that its a good way to get people hooked. Everyone that disagrees either wasn't a Qore member, or in denial. Its a FACT that Qore offered less the second year.
I won't pay anymore than $200. Nintendo is crazy to charge anymore than that amount. By the time the 3DS comes out the tech should be a little bit cheaper, assuming a March 2011 launch date. Additionally, the higher volume of systems they ship, the cheaper it will be. Secondly, the 3DS will effectively be competing with the PSP rather than the DS. Parents on a budget will still buy the DS over the 3DS if the cost is too great. Likewise, the graphics are relatively similar to the PSP as we...
I'm excited...a fully featured MMO will be mine to play on my TV :-)
Off topic- I would love it if Star Wars: The Old Republic came to consoles as well.
If Microsoft is smart they will mandate hard drives on all future 360s. They should include 120 GB hard drives...or at the very least 60 GB. I am going to assume that wifi will be excluded. They have to differentiate the $200 model enough so that the premium model is seen as a value relative to the extra features included. For $200 I would buy the model I described. I don't need wifi as my router is in my entertainment setup. Then again, I have a perfectly good Jasper 360...
I also will be getting it. 3 months free is also a pretty good incentive.
The only concern I have is whether there will be a healthy amount of content that is discounted and/or made free. I've been a Qore subscriber for 2 years now. With that said, the first year was great...a few free Playstation games and a couple PSN games. In other words, a good value. The second year was so so; there were only a couple of games and I already had purchased them previous. I hope that P...
Why does it matter if its multiplatform? Does it hurt your fanboy sensibilities or something?
Final Fantasy 14 started life as a 360/PC title. For crying out loud, Final Fantasy 11 and 13 are on the Xbox. If the quality of the title is affected, there is cause for concern, however that was NOT the case for FF13. The PS3 version was superior, the 360 version was inferior, but still enjoyed by millions of FF fans without a PS3. Bringing a game to a larger audience is not a crim...
Flop? Since when did selling 150 million units considered a flop? If your implying that the 3DS will flop, thats another thing. If Nintendo doesn't solve the problem of piracy and doesn't transition to a more digital form of distribution, it could fail. However, I see this possibility as next to nil. Nintendo will always have a following of fans willing to buy their hardware and meticulously crafted software. The price is also always right and the quality is never a concern.

How in the world did quality control at Microsoft fail so hard and ship a case without stating in no uncertain terms: hard drive required. Idiocy at its best.
I'm disapointed by this news as I wanted to buy a second 360 S, the 4 GB kinect bundle. I won't be able to now that I need to buy a hard drive just to play Halo Reach. I need a second xbox so I can play while my significant other can watch tv/netflix.
:-/
The regular multiplayer wo...
