I have to disagree with you. Your "definitely" is an assumption. When there is a big enough audience who want something, it is only logical for that want to be fulfilled. They have not shown any abandonment of this game considering a patch was released recently, and I, personally, do not think that they do not want to satisfy their customers. In fact, they have made a point to go so above and beyond that your idea of "definitely" seems outlandish.

It is just one of penultimate games of this gen. I see this more of a statement of standing by OG PS4 /XOne owners rather than a rebuke towards the Pro and/or lack of desire to support it. However, if the Pro can produce significant results, I do not think that they will shy away from a patch that might renew interest in the game. It could sell DLC to all those who never bought them previously (also anyone who hasn't bought the game yet), and they just released a new patch a few weeks ...

At its launch, it will be the most powerful console to exist. That makes all the other consoles not premium. In context of the PS4, it will likely always be premium.
It all depends on the NX. How good is it going to be? If it turns out that it has some "wow" to it, you can expect the likely people to buy the Scorpio are going to be grown men. Even then, it is competing head to head with PC's, so there is a real possibility it could totally flop. PS fans who want their exclusives may be satiated by the Pro, and if the NX offers a cool experience with a well planned future for game support, it may be a huge seller and likely much cheaper ...
I think that they aren't trying to overwhelm our Christmas lists with all the hardware they are releasing. We got Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 4, and The Last Guardian. Those are huge titles. I know Ratchet and Clank is for the kids, but it was an awesome game for the kids. Plus it had a movie. There were other exclusives, too, but they aren't big enough to really mention. I am not sure what AAA's are coming out, but so far, it has been a good gaming year in my house!
I'll keep it real here. I got my 360 for 80 bucks plus a ride to the liquor store. It had Doritos in its plugs. I cleaned it up, but the real reason I bought it is because I knew it could be hacked. I went through several dvd drives and hundreds of Verbatim dl discs. Every game that was good, I had. At the end, it was crazy with how they started overburning games for protection, but I had a drive to do that, too.

Some games that have come out would have been considered unplayable. Gamers demanded quality this gen that just hasn't been able to be achieved. People have been regularly playing games at 20 some fps which is just awful. Games even go under 20 sometimes, and this is just for the bump to 1080...
That is a huge advantage. The common consumer who window shops will see that there is an enhanced PS4 available, and it will make for a cheaper Christmas present knowing the OG PS4 can be sold to cut the down the price. The idea of opening a box and having the best version of the most popular console will be enough for many.

They all look fine to me. The only qualm I had with the OG PS4 is how easily the shiny plastic scratched. You would think I have spent time scrubbing it with my pots and pans. I don't like to feel like I am damaging my possessions.
