Sony just has to many brand new projects they are trying to get out at one time.
New HDTVs and front projectors, Brand spanking new Blu-ray player that has to be done right first time out, trying to stay alive in the music player department (I think they just recently released a new line of music players), Keeping up-to-date with with their Laptop/PC line, and of course the PS3. Add to all the problems they cause themselves as well as the market - something (or somethings) go...
Xbox 360 has been out for a year it better have a game or games that are ahead technically and graphically.
Launch titles set the bar for future generation of games and from what I've seen PS3 launch titles are doing a better job at setting the bar higher than Xbox 360 launch titles
That said it is nice to see PS3 launch titles come close to xbox 360 top game titles and surpass the majority of xbox 360 game titles in quality
Now if I only had $500 to $600 d...
Wow... not classy at all Sony. Give everybody a break and not just the home crowd. Looks like I will without a console this geration until the price drops significantly. I still have my PC and I still think the PS3 is the most advance game hardware out their but....
no matter how advance it is... money is an issue... especially since the PS3 is mostly a game machine with HD movie playback.
Can't use it for work or school......
Hey why don't we S...
But after reading the interview with Lair sounds like the PS3 motion system can perform many of the same fuctions that the Wii remote can do "without" the gimmick controller...
arrr....
People who pay $300 dollars (you'll have to buy a second wii remote if you wan't two player action) just to play old nintendo games is in my opinion worse than someone who pays $400 - $600 for next-gen.
That said he has a point. The games that are coming out for the Wii definitely don't appeal to the traditional gamer over 19..... you know the ones that have carried gaming on any platform for the last several years. Now Nintendo is hoping to win the non-traditional gamer h...
Price of products are not considered set in stone until the products have "Actually" got on the market.
A sign of weakness for Sony would have been releasing the PS3 at the original price then dropping the price three to six months "after"
launch.
This is just good marketing by Sony not a sign of weakness.
News agencies and Xbox fanatics are just upset at the fact that Sony has created a console that is "accomplish...
I've been using the internet for a lonng
time - I know the difference. This has happen before on this site. Not sure if it is intentional or not.
I just decided to mention it now. It was quite obvious I was in the PS3 section.
I double check to make sure and sure enough the PS3 color red everywhere. You would have to be colorblind not to know the difference. News4gamers.com color codes each section with a distinct color. Kind of hard not to notice whe...
I was reading up on the Virtual fight stuff came back and the to read some more stuff and its not listed any more interesting... oh well
I forgot to mention that the HD-DVD is looking pretty Good MS. ;)
I'm finally going to say it. Fix the problem with the the categories. PS3 section shouldn't have Xbox 360 news. I seen this in other sections as well. The whole idea of having sections is to personalize it for those interested for that section only. If I wanted xbox 360 content I would have clicked xbox 360 content. Don't think I'm a Sony fanboy because I'm not I own a 360. Actually I consider myself nuetral as both xbox 360 and upcoming PS3 both offer games exclusively that appeal to m...
The reason I believe more manufactures are siding with blu-ray is marketing strategy.
Toshiba is heavily underselling their machine to flood the market. Other manufactures won't be able to compete as easily thus profit wise doesn't make sense.
That is why there is a huge price differences between HD-DVD player. The blu-ray market, with the exception of the PS3, is much more balanced/fair. Sure the PS3 is undercutting - but its is still a game machine first and not con...
Better graphics is used as general term to describe all aspects of output to the screen. We could get into detail like better clarity, better Anti-Alaising, better lighting, better physics, better "resolution" sometimes called graphic resolution. High resolutions allow more detail to be displayed much more accurately than in lower resolutions. Since Pacman doesn't have much detail in the game the high resolution won't change the way the games looks. However, when a monitor or TV h...
For years we PC gamers have been waiting for affordable 1600x1200 gaming and we are just starting to see it.
Why? because any true hardcore PC gamer will tell you that there is a significant difference in picture quality when you jump from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200. That said, most PC games still have not achieved playable WUXGA (1900x1200). The fact that a $500-$600 machine can play any game at 1080p (1900x1080 resolution) is truly remarkable. Lets hope Lair and Resistance get th...
This is PS3's first generation of titles. The fact the most of the game titles will be on par with Second Generation Xbox 360 is saying a lot. Also First Generation games set the bar for the rest of the Generations. This is why I feel Xbox 360 titles have not achieved a drastic improvement since the first year. Really the only killer title (as in major noticable difference) the Xbox 360 has over PS3 game titles this Christmas is Gears of War. With that said Resistance might even give Ge...
I just have one question. What stops these immature flammers from just creating a new name and continuing on once they have initially limited themselves to the lowest number of comments?
Just a thought.
Anyways, lets hope this cleans up the comment site.
Kudos for trying N4G!
I find it hard to imagine how stupid it must sound spouting off about the cost of the PS3 but then realizing their paying more for the Xbox 360. Now we hear the same crude from them but singing to a different tune. Now its O.K. to be more expensive and you get freedom of choice bu!lc&@P. I have an xbox 360 and even I see the value in Sony's PS3.
Sony fans don't listen to this filth. These idiots are bad representation of Xbox 360 gamers. Sony has done a great job with the...
Now to make it Great. Allow PS3 and PC owners to play each other. Supposedly Sony is sticking with Open standards so the protocols should be the same as the PC world.
I'll take 720p over HDMI any day over component. There is noticable differences - its not a lot - but it is noticable. Its nice to have one less cable too worry about as well since sound can pass through.
Anyways, people only need to buy the $600 PS3 if they have a 1080p TV with HDMI or want built-in Bluetooth and WIFI support.
The $500 is not going to perform any less than the $600 and since they both have hard drives the 2 PS3 are more compatible than the 2 xbox 360s...
This is by far the best looking screen shoots I've seen for the PS3 or xbox 360. Unfortunately screen shots tell us little about how an actual game looks/simulates actual play/life. That said xbox 360 has pump out some really crappy screen shots and had great games come out.
What can we get out of this then? Hope. yes sun is starting to rise ever so slowly on Sony's side. However the one question still remains unanswered - will Sony live long enough to see the sun full rise in...
Worrying about wattage? If someone is hurting that bad financially they shouldn't be buying a game system. There is a lot of processors in the PS3 as well as other electronic components. I say thats about right. If I had base my home audio systems on how much wattage they put out I would have never enjoyed the audio experience I have had over the years. Face the facts, Gaming is expensive past time. So can music, movies, heck even my dirt bike is expensive to keep up and running. Oh by ...
