It looks like they are using another controller port for the output signal. Meaning I doubt you could get all 7 controllers to run with force feedback. Devoting a whole controller port to just feedback can give a lot of room for creativity. Lets hope Sony buys into this or at least the Developers. That way I'll just buy a third party controller that supports this and any good games that supports this as well.

I usually view this website in Opera because I could increase the zoom a lot with out it affecting the page as quickly. I've seen better DX9 games. You would think that developers would keep a very tight lid on their DX10 games until they show a level of detail at least on Par with the Xbox 360 and PS3. People shelling out over $2000 (4 times the price) are expecting Demos and early betas too trounce full blown console games. I've seen better on older consoles.
It's a smart move by Microsoft. PC Gamers are usually the hardcore of the bunch. They want the fun and playability that Wii owners crave AND the latest in Technology (plus gamers will gab - word of mouth is cheap). Both PS3 and Xbox 360 are more like Direct X 9.5. These machines are quite capable at doing more than what was offered on to DX9 users. Now the question is: Is the Graphic Bar raised by DX10 worth $2000 grand more than a PS3 or Xbox 360. If the Wii is any indication that Powerful Graphics is not the only factor when consumers invest into gaming then I doubt that pretty gaming is the only factor. How good is PS3's backward compatability with PS2 games? If it is really good, then it should be possible for PS3 owners to play the PS2 game.
If you want to get technical about it, any PS2 game made now should be playable on the PS3 unless of the developers purposely made the game incompatible. In a way, it could be said that PS3 owners should be able to play it as well.

Apple's market is people/homecomputing. They have done a great job doing music and video content and make great desktop publishing machines.
