Everyone is holding back this year at E3. Nintendo probably saw what was going on and decided to play the game too. Looks like TGS this year is going to be the E3 everyone wanted.
Adding options to for customers is not bad..... Onlive's service has improved greatly since it came out.. They still have plenty of room to improve on their compression software. When it first came out you had to have 5mb download minimum just to get HD now 720p is possible at 3Mbps. Lag problems on Onlive are no different from lag on regular video games. Some normal online games are better than others with lag but each one is different. With onlive all games are equal in lag and Onliv...
This isn't very sound logic especially from supposedly educated people. There is a reason the used game market is so big. Most of the gamers can't afford to be pumping out $50-$70 for a standard video game each and every time. At these prices, we gamers have to be choosy with what we get or we will have to find a way to get it cheaper. However, excitement can fade away, even for top rated games. If developers think that these gamers should just wait til the price drops 6-12 month...
to bad would be nice to see some info on that as that has been a sore spot for awhile as AMD generally does better in the AA category specially when playing with very high settings in games. Would be good news
Question is are you willing to pay $200 more for only a 0-10 fps increase especially when both graphic cards are playing most games on an average of 60fps. Depending on what games you play there will be no noticeable increase in FPS but the Nvidia owner paid $200 dollars more.
Obviously Both Companies have certain games that just play better because of optimization (Nvidia has the advantage here but AMD has made leaps and bounds in driver optimization recently and seems to b...
By that logic.... I bought my two 5870 cards Christmas 2009. A little over 2 years latter, AMD is currently at 7000 series which is 2 generations latter. Well if the rumors are true and 2014 is the date we could very well see this generation of GPUs in the next consoles. Also comparing consumer pricing of models 1-2 years ago the price is nearly half of what the current model is now....
Corporate/bulk buying of products from Companies like Microsoft or Sony are even cheaper....
This is a soft disagree. There is way more to gaming than just pixels. As matter of fact, gaming on a PC at HD or near HD resolutions has been going on for awhile now. Most of the power in a GPU is going toward other stuff that actually makes the game visually come alive. For example PC computers have been able to game at 480p resolution for like ages, however, even today a PC can not imitate real life at 480p because of a number of factors that go way beyond just pixels on a screen...... <...
I have to agree with OpenGL on this one. Yea Nvidia cards tend to have the upper hand in performance but usually Nvidia makes you pay for it. If you match dollar for dollar then AMD is the winner. Also I believe AMD has more wiggle room in a price war than Nvidia does and still make a profit. I still would go AMD ...... only because I believe that if Nvidia convinces people to buy in to the higher cost it will just bring down the cost of AMD's 7000 series even more. Also AMD loves to sl...
Gerard Butler is a great actor and looks similar to Nathan Drake.......but he is like 42-43 and no amount of CGI is going to change his maturity level. If you look at his films he is always playing a mature type role and then you have to find an even older actor for Sully to counter Gerard's mature stance .......
Good example is if you were to ask people who was older Gerard Butler or the actor someone posted above Dylan McDermott most people would pick Gerard Butler but ...
No bradley cooper doesnt fit as Nathan Drake neither does Harrison ford as Sully. Bruce Campbell would make a better Sully here is a picture from the TV series Burn Notice: http://www.imdb.com/media/r...
If you watch the show Burn Notice enough you will begin to notice the similarities in personality type. Even their voices sounds similar. Now I am not saying it is exact...... Just close enough that sh...
people finding time to complete a game quickly is no indication of depth. Skyrim is considered to have considerable amount of depth but there are accounts of people completing over a hundred hours of skyrim and completing all the main quest within two weeks of the game coming out. A month out (lets say december) people have reported playing all the main quest and side quest and pretty much finished the game. Most rpgs don't extend past 200 hrs of game play and who knows what scale compa...
The main culprit that held back both the PS3 and Xbox 360 from greatness was " memory ". Yes, memory, memory, memory, and more memory... My ideal system will have lots of memory.... here is my logic.
Its a given than the processors (both GPU & CPU) in the new upcoming consoles will be better/faster than their current counterparts......
What doesn't make sense is handicapping this power with craptastically low amounts of memory. Just upgradin...
Story above all else.... can over look blah graphics and/or less than stellar gameplay if story is fantastic. For a game to survive the "modern" gamer graphics and gameplay have to go hand'n'hand... one can not survive without the other. Online isn't necessary if the story is awesome, gameplay and graphics are stellar. Online is more for replay value and isn't needed to make a great game.
Call of Duty is about soldiers-People paid and trained specifically to kill-so in a war type game kill/death ratio makes sense.
Drake's job really isn't to kill, his career choice often has him dealing with people who do kill. Its the unfortunate part of his career choice and he has learned to cope with it but his personality type is way different from a soldiers.
Please don't make comments about Indiana Jones or comparisons (and I have to break m...
In the very beginning of the movie, in the background of the forest, there were glowing eyes in the trees. Something tells me I've seen this before in a game but I can't remember for the life of me where. Can anyone shed some light?
Wow! reading comments from other sites sounds like a lot of wanna be id software fans but when they get a game that has the soul of an old school fps but with a fresh coat of paint they complain? This is a new area of exploration for id software: trying to make single player game and experimenting with vehicles for multi-player...........They exceeded my expectations in the graphical department (I'd say a smudge better than Uncharted and Killzone 2 with the high frame rate giving it an ed...
Just two cents. Bluray Speed isn't an issue compare to dvd format any more. Since the making of 8x blu-ray drives the format has been on par or better than reading speeds of even the fastest dvd drives. Also you can easily find decent 8x BD-R (burn once) drives; Asus has a really good drive that will burn BD-R at (reliably)12x! Its the re-writable blu-ray burners (BD-RE) that are behind..... the fastest BD-RE drives still hover in the 4x speed area which is too slow. Remember that Blu-...
sorry zero_cool the average consumer tv is going to be 1080p for at "least" 5 more years. Sony needs to concentrate on faster more consistent frame rates (min 60 fps but 120 would be better for 3d), better AA and filtering, better physics, increase the amount of objects that can be shown and tracked both on and off the screen, etc.... etc.... etc....
The list goes on...........
There is so much more that is going on in a game than resolution. Resol...
I skipped the first gen of Wii and have been doing fine with PC and PS3 (my xbox 360 died). I was one of the many owners of the Gamecube that felt abandoned by Nintendo and wasn't going through that possibility again. Wii's hardware specs didn't justify the double the price I paid for my Gamecube so I skipped it. I was shocked at how well the Wii sold but I forgot that Nintendo didn't sell many Gamecubes (probably because nobody cared or had a clue) so not many people knew tha...
Haven't seen it in movies industry... soon as video discs became harder to come by it the industry jacked the price up especially for rentals. Its getting harder now on the net for decent pricing on HD titles and have to sign for email alerts and using crawlers to find what you want at a decent price. Streaming Rentals in HD with decent surround sound starts at $4 streaming and goes up from there depending on what company you go through. The "local" (not national chain) Video r...
