That is a dumb a$$ statement. Why would they show an old build if there is new and improved software to show? Face the facts, it is not everything Sony flameboys want it to be. Get over it and for once, just once, stop making excuses for Sony. Do they pay you?
I have to agree with one of the comments from the article, how cool would it be to have realtime reactive game play based on your heart rate? For you Sony fans think about how much cooler TLOU would be if the infected came at you in greater number if you are calm or if your heart is racing there is an additional suprise that jumps out at you to keep up the suspense? Just that alone would turn a great game (from what I hear, I don't have a PS3 but I can believe it) into legend.
@newmonday
Did you type your response on a computer or cell phone? Just wanted to let you know that if you did they are both collecting information about you. I really wish you people would stop speaking just to be heard and actually think about the things you are saying. There is no more intrusive a device on the planet than a cell phone and you use that every day.
@wishingW3L
There is no magic involved. Instead of hating on a system try listen to what they are saying. The reason it is possible is because once you bought the game and loaded it to your console the ENTIRE game was also saved in the cloud. You would not be playing the game from your console rather the version in the cloud. Next try listening to the press conference instead of trying to make snide remarks.
No it is nothing like the Xbox system. I you fanboys will ACTUALLY read and UNDERSTAND what it is saying, the article say you must DOWNLOAD the game at your friends house and you will be able to play "the first level" immediately. The Xbox system required zero download and you played what ever level you wanted.
This is a dumb article and fanboy bait. The MS points are 80=$1. The conversion the article speaks about means nothing because by charging dollars vice points MS more easily sets its price point in each region where as with the point is was a singular point system for all regions. Yes it sucks that they can more closely regulate their price structure but does Sony charge the same price for games in the UK as they do in the U.S.? Thought not. The U.S. prices are exactly the same.
What is amazing is someone can write and have published an article with the word, or non-word, "fishes". I am no grammar expert and don't claim to be, but we have fallen so far as an intellectual nation we have news reporters ending their sentences with prepositions. How far do we have to fall before we realize there is a problem?
@Pope
The problem with gamers is we think the world revolves around us. Who cares what gamers want (that is my MBA speaking). This is a business industry. And like any other business the only rule that matters is profitability. The more the better. One of the main reasons Sony does better outside the US than Microsoft is the regional locking. It makes for fans that love you but you have to answer to shareholders. And for all of you out there that think the fans have a bigger voice tha...
@allformats
The most important thing is that America re-invest in it's education system. You completely changed the context of the sentence. He said, "most importantly, we epeanded Xbox beyond great gaming..." and then he adds, "to deliver all the entertainment people want..." Ballmer is a pretty bad pick to head MS I will give you that and even worse if he has to take charge of Xbox but don't put words in his mouth by changing the context of the words that...
You do realise you can disable the functionality of the Kinect so that it is not "always" on? Happy to here you are buying the eye. I think the point of the article though was to point out that devs may not program for the eye as much because they will prefer to wait for large adaptation which only comes if there are games that are programmed for the eye. It is that conundrum that the author was speaking to. Whereas with the Kinect being bundled with every unit means the devs know t...
So now a Sony exec has confirmed that the eye was initially supposed to be bundled with the PS4. I think it will hurt Sony game development in the end. Like motion control or not including it gives the devs the option to use the tech. And if you don't like it you don't have to use it bundled or not. And before you disagree and you fanbots go crazy tell me which one of you has a cellphone that doesn't have a bunch of software on it you never downloaded, don't want, and can'...
@therealpetermoore
The problem is the YOU are the fanboy. You jump on him because you don't like something HE is buying. Why do you give a $hit if your not a fanboy? You are the stupid one dumba$$.
It is funny how the article about fanboyism is written by an obvious fanboy? Haha! Anyway, if I was to be labeled I would be labeled a Xbot but it is by default. The only reason I have never owned a PS is I HATE the controller. Everytime I use one my hands cramp in 30 minutes. I like Sony games and I think it is a great system, has been for a long time. But I will never get past that horrible controller. I wish the fanboy $hit would disappear and all games would be cross platform. I know ther...
Why does not have to "win"? That is the typical Sony fanboy mess that just makes everyone on here sound like a jackass. I have never owned Sony and it has nothing to do with the actual consoles. I think Sony has a great console from 1-4. But since playing on the PS1 my hands cramp playing with the controller. I have large hands and Sony is designed it seems to exclude anyone with large hands. I can't buy it because I can't see spending money on it for something I can't p...
The difference is you sony fanboys persecute any other company for the smallest hiccup but forgive Sony for the most egregious problems without giving it a second thought.
Don't take this the wrong way but... You think Cliffy thinks he is always correct the same way you think YOUR opinion on the topic is the correc opinion right now!?! See the irony of that statement? Everyone thinks their opinion is correct and they are, because they are opinions. The facts are what they are but each person with interpret the data to satisfy their opinion. We all do it, it is human nature. I will say like him or not you must give a little credence to what someone with two ...
Sometmes I really worry about the current and future state of huanity. We tend to take eerything at face value and critical thinking is definately a thing of the past. Has anyone wondered how they are playing a playstaon video through the xbox? And please don't come back with youtube! Of course thi is fake or just plain staged if true.
@H3ADWOUND81
How do the consumers have a choice? If the publisher restricts DRM it doesn't matter which console you own it will not be resellable on either, Sony confirmed this already. Also everyone on here tends to act like they never heard MS say ONLY first party games will be restricted at resale. Other resale is again left up to the publisher. If there is a code included with the game it can not be resold or gifted more than once as it will be track. If not you can sell or g...
You are the definition of "fanboy".
@Snookies12
I have to ask, do you have a Hulu subscription or complain about Hulu? I ask because it is the same service as NetFlix but requires that you watch COMMERCIALS even though you are paying for the service. If this is not a huge problem for you then how would Microsoft's situagtion be any different? Just so you know I do have a gold membership but dropped Hulu for this very reason. I can move right by MS adds but I cannot skip a Hulu commercial.
