While $299 is a good pricing point, you are basically getting a stripped down version. Ya consumers like choice, but the choices will not be constrained to just Xbox's. You have choices outside the xbox with the Wii or Ps3. Especially the ps3 with $100 more you get storage, HD, and wireless internet among other things. What it comes down to is what can you get most from your money. On paper, ps3 is a better deal than the $299 xbox...Unless you are an xbox fanboy, the casual gamer would li...
Netflix looks like a good addition on paper, but I was browsing through the instant queue over the weekend, new releases are not on their so I am not sure how beneficial Netflix would be for me personally since i am only interested in watching new releases.
When people say they switch back to Halo from COD or vice versa. A majority of them have both games still and are able to switch back and forth, you cant. Not saying you would of switched back, but using your situation isnt really a good example
If they want to extend that lead, they need to provide more exclusives in the next year. While Sony has a number of exclusives, none of them have been dated and it seems they will not be coming out for quite some time. GOW was a teaser, but when? Killzone 2 is being hyped up to being something huge, but was Killzone 1 that great? The one good thing MS has is their exclusives are coming out by the end of the year and within months. Sony can have all these exclusives, but when? This is a g...
If FFXIII remained an exclusive, there would of been a huge boost in sales during the release. All the people that have just the Xbox who were waiting for FF(i am one of them) was holding out to get a PS3 once the game comes out. Quality or not, those xbox owners do not have to buy a ps3 to play anymore.
As far as the xbox sales, if there is going to be a boost, its going to be minimal unless the current ps2 owners that have skipped the generation so far decide to go xbox whi...
With a score of 6.9 from Gamespot and probably similar from other reviews, how did this game cement itself as AAA. If you ask people their fave FPS's, Killzone wouldnt make the list, amirite? When people mention top exclusives on the ps3, they need to mention GOW, GT and MGS...Not sure if any other title deserves a AAA label.
When did Killzone get triple A status? Was the first one that great of a smash hit?
Something I am not sure if Sony did. Sony showcased their exclusives, but wont be coming out until 2009? Is that right? While the PS3's future looks bright, but how far into the future?
No issues at this point, I received this xbox after my first RROD in April of 2007. So, its been working for over a year now with no issues in regards to games and DVDs..
You have two people from the company saying two different things. You cant expect nothing but them saying they saw it coming, no way the let MS have the upper hand especially with the momentum they have gained this year..
focusing on games that are coming out in 2008. Although there was nothing new in terms of games outside of Final Fantasy which was a bombshell obviously, the games announced that were exclusive - Gears, Fable, and one JRPG were dated for release in Nov, October, Sept, respectively. MS had demos to show during the presentation and unveiling of netflix service and were stated to be available by the end of this year. I am not interested in avatars or that movie game, so I am not going to be m...
However, not everyone will have their setup with a PC near the T.V to stream movies. Naturally, xbox's are connected to your t.v which makes it more convenient to have streaming through your xbox as opposed to moving your PC, get a long cord, or having to adjust your room to get your PC connected to your T.V. If your PC has quick access to your T.V, this service will likely not be that beneficial unless until Netflix implements HD streaming and your PC does not have the appropriate specs. ...
But you must have a Netflix account which means you must have a subscription. If netflix were to provide free movies ondemand, there are going to be a lot of cancellations because you would only have to pay the live sub which is roughly $5/mth for movies(remember the live sub is the existing fee paid for the likes of online play and such, whatever you pay for live now, is what you will pay after having access to netflix.) That is not realistic, Netflix is looking to expand by xbox owners th...
As for Sony, they did show their exclusives briefly and presented a couple of new games, but the one thing I am missing in all this is release dates on these games. I can not recall release dates mentioned on games like GOW, Killzone, Resistance, or GT (correct me if I am wrong).
For Microsoft, they did not show anything new in terms of games except for FF. Yes xbox owners are going to be happy because they will not have to spend another $400 on a console to play the game a...
Are happy that FF is coming to the xbox because they do not have to go spend $400 on a second console to play the game whether the quality is better or not. Not everybody has $$ to go buy two consoles that are priced extremely high.
There is "no additional cost" if you have Live Gold ~$5/mth and net flix ~$15/mth (maybe lower). There is nothing free about it, but it is on demand so that makes it more convenient rather than dealing with scratched discs and wait time. I have both so I am good...
I do not recall any announcement regarding release dates for the ps3. Sony showcased their games and announced a couple new things and had little or no demos and no release date (correct me if I am wrong). MS already announced Gears of War, Fable, and one of the SE rpgs to be released by the end of the year. Not sure what Sony is going to release. Sony has exclusives, but for what year?
I might of missed it, but did Sony announce release dates on their exclusives? Saw the God of War trailer and it was just a small clip and no timetable. Same goes for their other games.
I am an xbox owner and only planned to get a ps3 because of FFXIII. Since the game is going to the xbox, its going to save me about $400-$500 because now I do not have to buy one to play the game. This is probably similar to a lot of xbox owners that were planning to get the ps3 because of FF. Since they dont have to, they are going to save $$ by getting the game that releases the same time in NA, whether quality is the same or not (disc).
The game is going to sell a lot r...
FFVII was an amazing game and why go an update an existing game? If they are going to make a FFVII game, it should be a sequel like Crisis Core and just release FFVII on PSN as already rumored.
