"Is that all they have done so far?"

No, i would guess that is all they have shown so far.....

Nice try though, i have to congratulate the attempt.

If that is how much detail they have put into the weather system/effects, i can't wait to see what the rest of the game looks like.

"With regard to the portion of the video about digital content, the user first attempts to launch pre-installed digital content whilst offline. This fails for the same reason as it would have done on Xbox One, PS4 or PS5 in that the console is not set as the "Home console" (primary console for PlayStations). The main difference between Series X|S and PS5 is that we chose not to automatically change a user's Home console, whereas Sony chose to set your first ever PS5 as prim...

Exactly, some people on here do not understand DRM on any console, and what would happen when transferring games/licenses to a new console.

If systems like this were not in place, i could just install 100 games to a hard drive, and clone that hard drive over and over and over, for all those gamers offline.

DRM has been a thing since the 90's, same happens with software when you transfer to a new hard drive on a PC, you ne...

@petebloodyonion

The only one that read and understood, what the developer said, all it is is a licensing issue upon installation of said games, if you install ANY game and verify the license via xbox live/download any required BC settings, you can then play said game offline.

It is right there in the developer notes, this is becoming Everest out of an ant farm.

Like i said in the other thread, it is simply a bug in the BC/Smart delivery licensing.

Native S and X games can be installed and played offline.

"Sony allows you to add NVMe SSD's produced by other manufacturers."

None have been passed as far as i am aware, which ones can i put in my PS5 today? Did they not announce it will be around Summer 2021? And even then, can you run PS5 games from it? It would have to match or even surpass, the internal SSD architecture, let me know the price of that "cheap" M.2?

100% agree with you.

No doubt this is just a bug that will be ironed out before i get the chance to set up the ironing board.

I would completely agree, but your statement has one major flaw....

You can still buy xbox games on disc so....

Just an addition, here is how to play games offline on xbox :-

If some game are not working correctly, then it is a bug.

@draconiangull

I understand what your saying with things pushing for all digital, but why are you making out like Microsoft are the only company that are pushing this?

Steam, GOG are 100% zero ownership, and Sony and Nintendo are pushing at the same pace for all digital, evidence with the PS5 DE, but no hate one them?

"PlayStation is the only thing keeping them from doing anything and everything they want."

"Native Xbox Series X physical games like Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition work fine. It installed off the disc and ran as it should offline. This should in theory mean that games that are solely for the Xbox Series X should work both offline and online."

So, no Series X DRM as native games work fine? Gotcha, now then, cross platform games may be a different story with DRM, as seems to be the case here, with some working, and others not.

No doubt...

Sorry, but you own a license to play the game, sure you own a disc, but you never own what is on it.

Take a look at the EULA you accept, let me know what you find.

@RazzerRedux

You said it yourself

"some, not all, games worked."

So it is not the consoles DRM, but the individual titles DRM.

What is the proportion of "some" vs "not all" out of all games available on the platform? Did they pick around 10 or 20 which they knew did not work and omit the rest?

I can bet you if you try the same on the other consoles, you will get the sa...

"Many dont even know that the game is made by Bethesda."

It isn't it is made by ID software.

I think every gamer knows Doom is made by ID and published by Bethesda.

The big giveaway is the ID/Bethesda Studios logo when you load up the game.

Probably just to point out that Bethesda are not having their normal separate conference.

The title is correct, but they could have worded it differently.

1863d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

No, Microsoft is having 1 conference as a platform.

Bethesda will have a conference segment within the Microsoft showcase.

Your right it is not hard to understand.... for some.... nothing PR about it, they are joining Microsoft's conference

They can not force the PS5 to run the game at the desired targets, without a native BC solution in place.

Xbox Series S and X have a solution, the PS5 does not.

All the developers can do is release a native PS5 patch to correct, unless Sony create their own solution, but it is like i think it was the PS3 gen if i am mistaken? Sony had the same stance when it came to BC, they tried to not implement it in later models, but xbox did so they had to re-assess ...
