seriously though, of course theyre trying to move the stagnant inventory. it's stagnant, meaning it's not making them any $$$. they dont want to have to send those consoles back any more than the public seems to want to buy them. this isn't usually a problem ever, let alone a few months after release.

this really makes me wonder how many *more* aces microsoft has up their sleeve. seems like every couple weeks they're announcing some huge new capability for the 360. not that im complaining, it's just amazing. they're really pulling out all the stops. i guess thats what being the largest commercial financial entity in the world can do for you, versus being in the red for 2 years ;)
the 360 controller is way better. the left stick is in a better spot, more comfortable. i loved the dualshock back in the day but now the low left stick isn't too great.
no... this won't be in homes for a long, long time. and when it is it will be expensiive, and holo discs and small hdd's and solid state memory will all be "bigger and faster" so it'll just be another way to store media, 5 years from now.

ok here i go... blu-ray and hd-dvd both only exist to screw you out of your right to back-up your own legally bought and fragile media. hd movies can fit on regular dvd's (look at xblm download movie [vc1 encoded] sizes). ps3 offers more space, which is a great thing, but it also has no dedicating decompression hardware (no spe specialized for and dedicated to the task), where the 360 has an entire chip doing just that very very quickly and efficien...
dreamcast is awesome. always has been. controller sucks though. it just fell victim to sony's "our box is more powerful" when it's not hype machine.
ok.. so you sign up for this... get lighspeed 35mbps internet to go with it (probably for a total less than your current digital cable bill)... and it's a bad thing? it's not a free world, people. i know personally that brighthouse 8mbps can iptv hd video, i've seen a demo.
i have some limited experience with iptv and i can answer some of those questions.
1. it's 120gb by then. plenty for wmvhd video (thats like 60 hours encoded). guys who want iptv with 20 gig hard drives will just upgrade. see... modularity is a good thing.
2. considering it doesnt use the internet (it's a direct connection like usenet) 6mbps is more than adequate for 2 tv's. the reason is that you're not at "6mbps" actually getting less than 1mbps l...

wow.. finally a microsoft story awesome enough that the sony fanboys havent even opened their mouth yet. speachless! haha. i guess playing an extra $200 for that betaray player dont seem like such an "awesome value" now that 360 owners have 3 (2 built in) ways to get hd tv/movies. i actually own a ps3 just waiting for the good games but i think it's just about official, as soon as they announce mgs4 on 360 (which WILL happen, maybe not on day one but ill wait 6 months to recoup ...

I like how at the end he says the next update includes "a little surprise". I wonder if that surprise is going to fix the "surprise" the last update gave me (game constantly locks beginning matches now, have to try 5-10 times restarting every time to enter a match). Anyway i hope it's some form of die-more-than-once action.
