if that rain is realtime than that must be using a whoooooooole lot of processing horsepower. it's like the realtime mud in motorstorm, only instead of maybe 100-200 "chunks" of mud it's thousands of little raindrops, each with physics and all. it's gonna be pretty cool considering that it is only rain after all.

ok... just so everyone knows... neither of these cameras, or the ps3 eyetoy, can record 1080i/p video. period. they just scale the video up internally to 1920x1080. 1920x1080 NATIVE ccd's cost a friggin' fortune and they surely aren't in either of these products. the cheapest camera you can get with true NATVE hd resolution is a JVC GY-HD110U, for about $6k (and it's 1280x720). a good friend of mine owns a small electronics store. he has had the same hd movie inventory (20 bd and 20 hddvd) for months, and he moves a lot of product. they just don't sell. those discs are probably the only thing in that store that has been there for more than 2 weeks, and it's been months.
what's funny is that everyone i know that has a ps3 still buys dvds. i don't, i buy blu-ray, but noone else i know does. i think people just aren't willing to pay $30 for a movi...

haha... you just bought dual 8800's and now you're upgrading to dual r600's? has there even been a game worth playing that pushes the "old" 8800's yet? this is why i'm glad i'm not a pc gamer. give me a system that runs world of warcraft. it's the only pc game worth playing anyway... pretty dx10 graphics on a $5,000 rig or not.
so... bascially the ps2 deinterlaces the output video. woohoo. any digital display (lcd/plasma/lcos) will do the same thing (probably better) to ANY interlaced signal it recieves. so, it makes sense that there is absolutely no difference at all.
...or it won't and the sony fanboys will finally accept the fact that they've been had. again. anyone remember the "reality synthesizer" and "emotion engine"? yeah... ps2 was most powerful last gen too, if you believe sony.
the save files for those replays will be tiny. it's not saving a movie, like an .mpg, it's saving location and orientation variables for the objects in the game world, then drawing all those objects back in realtime when you watch it. the saves will be a few mbs each.
so they used 3 ps3's to accomplish something that looks no better than what we have in realtime on GT:HD and Forza 2? not impressed...
theyt couldve accomplished the same thing by putting tony hawks project 8 side by side on 360 and ps3. one smooth 60fps, the other unplayable 15fps ;).
