i make over 5k/month and i'm not rich. i also wouldn't buy a ps3. not because it's expensive, but because there are no good exclusives that interest me. the only exclusives it has are japanese, and i'm not japanese. i like shooters and online titles. i don't want to sit through 3 hours of movies in mgs4 or do the whole kid with big hair saves the world thing with final fantasy.
forget a price drop... get some good AMERICAN games i can't already play on 360.
isn't sony kind of shooting themselves in the foot with those statements? historically speaking the fastest, most complex consoles have never won a console war. ps2 over xbox, snes over genesis, everything over 3do, the list goes on and on.
digital distribution of hd movies in 10-15 years? i just downloaded and watched an hd movie on my 360 a few days ago. wow time flies!

the ps3 only needs one thing to be successful... and that's games. blockbuster games that dont have "4" at the end of them. new ip. something that you can't get on 360 or pc that is worth the extra $200 on it's own. well, that and a real online community, with standard (included) headseats and real uniformity between games.
sony put themselves in the position to have to prove ps3's worth when they slapped a $600 price tag on it. so far they've failed miserably,...
PSN is free because it is a glorified website. It's HTML based and Sony doesn't even host game servers. This means that a couple years down the road you won't be able to play that obscure game you like that wasn't really popular online anymore, because the publisher decides when the servers get shut off. you get what you pay for.
wow, it must be great to play all the games that came out last summer this summer with slightly worse graphics.
i liked the single player demo as well, aside from framerate issues. the graphics were top notch, and once again better than any ps3 fps (atleast the one that it has). whoever thinks halo3 isn't going to bury this game from the start is burying their head in the sand, though.
look on youtube, there are tons of fast laps posted there. or, you could just go online and watch the fastest racers in the world race in realtime. quit being a fanboy.
yeah.... lots of sony things "seem" like theyre going to deliver. we'll see in due time. remember, this is coming from the same group of guys that told us we'd be playing 4d games at 300fps.
