Okay, so you liked Starhawk. That is great for you, but it does not add anything to the discussion about online hype =/= real world hype.

Sony always has the most vocal fans.
According to them games like Starhawk, Twisted Metal or PSABR were huge. In the real world nobody even cared about them.
You can turn the Kinect Camera off in the privacy settings. So this is not worse than a laptop that comes with a webcam.
I preordered the Xbox One at amazon.de but might switch to another smaller and unknown retailer, because I prefer to support the middle seized businesses instead of thos major companies.

Currently no. 1 wished item on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk and no. 1 best selling item on amazon.de (Germany). Somehow you can preorder it in Germany already and I just did that.

- exclusive deal with Remedy
- exclusive deal for Fifa is a huge blow for Sony in Europe.

That was a quote during the show. And they made it perfectly clear that this will be all about the hardware and not about the software. They will reveal most of the games in 18 days at E3.

Seems like the rumored deal between MS and EA was true - whatever this will mean in detail.
This event will be all about the hardware with Software following 3 weeks later at E3. So don't expect many games to be shown just yet.
But anyways there are 2 games confirmed right now and those are CoD and Fifa. And PGR 5 or a new Forza will be confirmed as well since MacLaren said it:

you should read my comment again. I like serious games as you called them. That is why I mentioned Halo, Gears and Alan Wake. I am a core gamer as well (Heck I am debating on N4G!), but I don't see judgement day coming when I play a Kinect game with a couple of friends though.
hardcore gamers need to stop thinking they are superior in any way and actually try a Kinect game with their girlfriends from time to time. But that is the main problem ag...
So Sony is splitting the entire company. There will be a comapny for entertainment and one for electronics.
Loeb, which is a major Sony investor and owns quite a big part of the company, wants to sell at least 15% of the entertainment part to fund the electronics company.
And no, this is not just a restructuring thing. Sony won't be the same company after this. They are starting to sell big parts of it.
