I'm okay with high priced DLC--IF THE VALUE IS THERE. What I'm not okay with, was Capcom's decision to charge for what essentially was a "DLC key."

Resident Evil 5 was a decent game, but I would love to see an HD remake of Code Veronica, along with others.
Resident Evil 6 should return the series to its roots.
I wouldn't compare the Xperia to an NGP.
NGP will be WAY better. This thing I was only remotely interested in, and barely.
I have a phone that does everything I need it to and would rather have a unit 100% dedicated to gaming.
I have a GO and love it. Besides, the GO and NGP will both still utilize PSN, so it's not like the PSP GO is...dare I say it?

I've got a decent Boost Mobile phone that I pay $50 monthly unlimited and I'll have NGP for Christmas. A smart phone plus PSP is useless to me. If you want to pay for monthly, buy the 3G NGP model and enjoy it. Me? I might just get the Wi-Fi model and call it good.
You chose almost the exact words I planned on using to explain this device. Bubbles. (Day one purchase of the NGP due to 120$ down on it right now in Mid-Michigan.)
Edit: I know that first and foremost this is a phone, but even my piece of crap Boost phone (A Sanyo Juno) along with my PSP Go is a way better combination.

I'm all for "clothing damage," but I think it would be better suited for portable gaming, and the only reason I say that is when my 2 year old daughter sees me playing a game with tig ol bitties hanging out I don't want her getting the wrong impression that women are only good for one thing.

Will it sell? Absolutely. Will it move consoles? Not many. Due to Jaffe's ego, I hate to say it, but I think waiting so long and teasing the public about the game with a lot of vehicle based games (Racing, damage, etc)...that this boat has since sailed. Will I pick it up?
Yeah, I'll have a look at the reviews and go from there.

If Square was on the fence about this game financially, the NGP is the way to go to make it happen. I would support it wholeheartedly.
Giving a 10 to a game should be rarely done and should follow specific criteria. These are examples of what I would judge on.
1) High replay value
2) Bonus content
3) Amazing value
4)Engrossing story or game mechanics
5) A revolutionary (Or mildly new) game engine.
6) Realistic scripting and/or characters.
PSP2 is a lot less cost for development and other reasons. I could honestly see a REALLY nice FF7 remake on the NGP. I would LOVE to see it and welcome such a concept with open arms.

NGP was already a first day purchase. An FF7 would be a first day one, too.
Hopefully it's a limited number of units. Hard to speculate right now, but I truly hope Sony doesn't have an issue like this when the NGP drops this Christmas.
I agree with you, but at the same time disagree. This is one of the reasons we have a standard 1 year warranty on video game hardware like this.
The homebrew community is huge. I remember seeing several Nintendo DS systems having Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis games on THE FIRST month OF launch. Free ROMS easily make up the price of the 3DS, and normal DS Hardware.
It could definitely be related to the format of the SD card as mentioned since it named a lot of the games that launched with the system. If it's not the software, and not the hardware, it might very well be the format of the SD card. Hopefully they resolve the issue soon.
They're still for sale, though, and even though I agree with you, you can't say it's a "dead platform." Has Sony given up on it? Yeah, they have. It was more of a test product to see if consumers were ready for a digital only device.
Truth is, a lot of people aren't. Hence, the NGP's birth. Now we have 2GB and 4GB flash cards.
