This game had a great story and soundtrack. It's not everyone's cup of tea, clearly the reviewer needs guns etc in their games so should stick to annual milking like COD but for people who aren't your 'average Joe' schmuck like mr pixelgate, you'll probably find this to be the 8/10+ game that all the less ill-educated critics found it to be.
It doesn't take a genius to see these things. It's got nothing to do with jealousy pal, I sure wouldn't mind anything platinum games do as they have a great history of making excellent games. They also have been known for tanking in terms of sales.
But we're talking Xbox trying to cater to a Japanese audience. Dead in the water...just ask Japan. It might be anticipated by people who went Xbone but sorry to break it to you, you're one of the very few people...
If £50 is too much to spend then fine, go by other peoples opinions if you trust them. I'm not saying they are flat out wrong, just my opinion matters far more to me.

If everyone who paid £50 was happy that they got their money's worth then good on them.
My friends said it lasted about 4-5 hours, they wouldn't play it again and that it was the worst price-game ratio they'd ever experienced.
It's not so much that reviews are the be-all-and-end-all, but I don't want to drop £50 on a game that is subpar as that is a lot of money. If you have £50 to drop to see if a game is good then well don...

It selling this much is probably a by-product of it being a flashy looking game and a lot of gamers being ill-educated.
Everyone whose opinion mattered said this was nowhere near worth full price of admission.
RAD have a good record on the whole though, they should bury this and try again - at least we know it'll have good graphics!
