This is true, for the PS2, Sony marketing was on top of their game, this generation it is severely lacking. I applaud Microsoft for doing what they do when they are trying to establish a solid brand name.
Now if only they can tackle a couple of other issues, they will only go up. Especially now that they are finally showing signs of penetration in Japan.

Judging by Sony's track record, I would highly doubt Blu-Ray to make it into the PS4. I believe Sony would wait an extra year or two to wait for/research/purchase the next hot medium and toss it in (more than likely against everyone's will) just as they have with CD/DVD/BD.

PS3 would be doing a lot better if it maintained backwards compatibility and dumped the PS2..........that way by still marketing and selling PS2 titles, people would buy PS3's as the family console as well to rival the Wii

Although Valve screwed PS3 owners by negating to actually do the port themselves, I enjoyed Orange Box a lot on my PS3. I disagree when you said Half Life was crap when playing CoD4 because regardless of how polished and good CoD4 was/is, HL is kind of on a league of it's own. Got me extremely pumped for Ep3 although I'm almost certain that Valve won't be doing it on the PS3 or at all and it's gonna be another PC playthrough for me.
