Seriously, why? Everyone knows MS will market the living F out of it. I hated Halo 3, but I tried it first, and I'm very anxious to try Halo: Reach.

Have only been "preaching" against paying to play online. I for one could care less about x-game chat, party mode, netflix, facebook, etc etc. You can check my comment history if you need validation as I refuse to pay Microsoft for the ability to play online. If they let you play online with a Silver account then by all means, if gold is worth it, then get it, same with PSN. If Sony decides to charge to play online then I will boycott and/or just stick to PC gaming and single player...

For actually getting it right
The game looks gorgeous, the animations are a little "iffy" from this video but plenty of time to polish.
The atmosphere, I agree with Saak is very nice, I was tense while watching it, very outdoorsy Dead Space. I hope the sound team capitalize on that to the maximum.
Watched the video in hopes it would get me to want it, but alas it's not my cup of tea. Alone in the Dark and Silent Hill are in the same genre as Alan it seems. I do in fact hope it turns out...

The only thing I disagree with is the PSEye and the Vision Cam. It has it's uses to not make it completely garbage. Blew me away when I used my Eye to put my face in Tiger Woods. Scary how good it turned out, and it comes in handy when implemented creatively (Burnout, Tiger Woods, GT5, etc) and for video chat.

If I had to hinge what I thought about a product before it was released, then I would actually be using Home right now. I would have been playing online coop on Fable 3 by now.
Look, just because something is announced and people tell you what they are AIMING to achieve with a product doesn't mean that it will do it when it's finished, deadline's make sure that doesn't happen.

I for one think Natal will be neat if and only if they incorporate a controller with it. Microsoft marketing unmatched skill will most definitely sell the camera, but if it's only "Eyetoy 2.0" as many put it, then it will suffer the same fate. Still won't get me to buy anoth...
That corporations, especially huge corporation, you cannot put anything aside of what they can and will do to make money. This includes, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo
That's what I think also, the only thing that will happen is another 360 purchase. People don't want to be forgotten by their friends they made online.

Battlefield, GeoW2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Halo 3, Cod4 and tons of others that I can't recall off the top of my head all had issues the first week+ after it's release.
