Sony has a 55% marketshare with PS4 right now. They've long since won, and that position is secured for the duration of this gen. PS4 has a 21+ million unit lead over Xbone, currently. PS4 has also won the games department as well. It has no competition, currently, and no hardware boost for Xbone in a year is going change that.
It makes sense why this wasn't announced at E3 2016, if true. It would've stolen a lot of thunder from games like God of War and Horizon. Sony's trying to spread out their games, so they focus on marketing one or two at a time. I really hope this is true though. Cant wait to finally get official confirmation. Maybe at PSX this year?
The Last of Us had an amazing multiplayer. It was the perfect blend of stealth and skill. You had to actually think. You couldn't just run around with 500 rounds and knife people from 10 feet away or jump 30 feet in the air. Simple, yet so sweet. The satisfaction from getting kills was awesome.
Im not a fan of the Slim's design, but looking at close up images of Pro, that console is absolutely beautiful. I love the new light bar placement, as well as the fact that they kept the same touch sensitive power/ eject buttons, but moved them to a horizontal position. I thought it was identical to the Slim, with an extra layer, but it's really not. I would actually like it more than the regular PS4 design, had they kept the sharp edges.
Would it be nice to have? Sure. But it would be nothing more than an overpriced novelty. I think Sony made the best decision by not using it. PS4 Pro is for hardcore PS gamers. Keyword is GAMERS. Sony never said this was for 4K enthusiasts overall. If you're someone who's more interested in UHD Blu-Ray, then either buy a UHD Blu-Ray player separately, or buy an Xbone S. There, I solved your problem.
As for Pro, it's great that people who have actually seen it i...
Depends on if Sony sees success with it. I personally hope so, because it's a logical progression with the way hardware is evolving so much faster than it used to. A lot of people might not like it, but it's going to be the only way to keep consoles fresh. Unfortunately, if people want to keep playing affordable hardware, it's naive to expect these companies to make something that will last 6-8 years. The only other alternative to that would be to release crazy powerful hardware f...
@Srelhow Most developers will make use of having a 1080p/ 60 FPS option for Pro users, except for some multiplayer cases. Games that can't run 60 FPS in multiplayer on regular PS4 hardware are very unlikely to do so on PS4 Pro, simply because Sony and developers don't want to give Pro users that unfair advantage. It makes sense, because Sony's goal with PS4 Pro isn't to alienate regular PS4 users. It won't be much of a problem, seeing as most game's multiplayer compone...
I see where your comment is coming from, and you're not wrong in one sense, but I think you've become lost in time and you think it's 2008 lol
It doesn't take a mathematician to know that Sony has been the one destroying MS this gen lol. Even if you're trying to go off the negative bullshit the media's been trying to throw at PS4 and make it seem like Xbone S is killing it, all you have to do is look at the Amazon best sellers in video games. Current...
Personal perception doesn't matter when it comes to seeing just how much Sony really is focusing on exclusive software over the next couple of years. If you think Sony isn't putting effort into making new AAA exclusives, you seriously didn't pay attention to E3 '16 to TGS '15. I can't even list all the exclusives PS4 has coming, there's so many, but here's what I do know:
Horizon, God of War, Spider-Man, NioH, Ni No Kuni 2, Gran Turismo Sport...
Reason's to not buy a Xbone S:
No exclusive games
No exclusive games
No exclusive games
The greatest thing about PS4 Pro is the fact that you don't have to own one. It's simply there as an alternative option that offers a little more bang for buck. The core PS4 experience of having some of the greatest exclusives around is prevalent in ALL PS4 models. So, instead of whining about a movie format that hardly even exist, and pr...
No, it seriously doesn't. 4K Blu-Rays are far from a mainstream media, and probably never will be. Physical distribution for movies and TV is dying out. Streaming has become the far more popular option, for several reasons. Even Regular Blu-Rays are becoming less and less relevant. The addition of a 4K Blu-Ray player would be an extra unnecessary cost as too few people would actually make use of it. Sony will most definitely produce an alternative so people can enjoy their movies in 4K.
I can only imagine that PS4 Pro will be the last iteration of PS4, period, outside of maybe introducing a slimmer model. It would only make sense for Sony to start going to the drawing board for PS5 at this point, but to take their time with it as well and not be disheartened by Scorpio. I think that Sony has finally realized that they're competing with Microsoft less and less as the days go by. They're sticking to maintaining a dedicated console ecosystem while MS is slowly merging i...
What are the solid numbers for hardware? Can anyone link if they know?
The article titles is seriously misleading. Sony didn't remove the Blu-Ray drive from the PS4 Pro. You can still watch Blu-Ray movies as you please; you just can't watch 4K Blu-Ray specifically
Do I technically need one? No, but as an avid PS4 gamer, I really want, which is why I preordered mine at the first possible opportunity. Those of you who want to miss out, that's on you. I, however, can not wait :D
If Scorpio is what MS is claiming it to be, it will be upwards of $700, minimum. Hardcore gamers will buy it, but it will still sell very little, especially seeing as it will have no exclusives, and is basically going to be underpowered PC.
Key word is "will", i.e. in the meantime PS4 Pro will be the most powerful console, by a huge margin, on the market for a year. And while PS4 Pro is raking in the dough, Sony will be at the drawing board for the next iteration, possibly PS5.
lol "Greatest Games"? Are these idiots serious right now? Xbone hasn't gotten a single exclusive to score 90+ on metacritic, and they've only had one, count it ONE, exclusive this year, and it was a total flop. It's like they always say; the loser has to try and talk the biggest game. Sony doesn't even need to say anything. They've long since won; MS is just pushing their insecurities even further.
Simple. We all continue playing awesome games on the awesome console that is PS4. Pro is just an expansion of the PS4 ecosystem. It's not here to cause any change. If you want one, get one. If you want to keep playing on regular PS4's/ buy one, do so.
