Wow. Perhaps they could invest this time and money into first... I don't know, cleaning up the franchises they have? Then again, it seems "gamers" will buy anything these days... bleh. I love MGS. It's my favorite series. But I have to say... I just don't care anymore. Bring it to whatever you want, as long as the PS3 version doesn't suffer, and as long as the game is quality.
I think by 2009, third party exclusives should be dead, period. Ninja Gaiden on PS3. MGS on Xbox. Everyone enjoys everything, and then first party devs will be forced to up the ante with titles like Motorstorm 2, Infamous, etc...
Does no one realize that this only benefits consumers? If both formats kept at a stalemate, then EVERYONE would lose. Still, I can't believe the... unprofessional takes many of these websites have. I understand that these sites need to get hits, but between this and the MGS4 poll they put up today, it seems the format/console war is something that many sites want to nurture and keep going. I find it far more amusing that Xbots would go the lengths to create fake stories about the game coming out on their console for site hits. Does the 360 lack that many good exclusives that its fanbase needs to fabricate stories about PS3 ones just to feel good about themselves? I'll have to disagree. Halo felt like more of the same. It's fun in 20 minute chunks, but quickly gets old. The real marvel this year for online for me was Call of Duty 4. Amazing visuals and level design, quick gameplay where you actually feared death, and awesome RPG style ranking systems. There's nothing as gratifying seeing your score pop up and rank up mid-match in CoD. (No, I'm not saying Halo 3 is bad, it's more of the same and was a major letdown for me.)

Once again another intelligent post via you. I do agree, the attach rate has been iffy, but look at some of the top sellers. Mario & Sonic? I have a Wii, but c'mon, that game is crap, even compared to solid casual/family ware like Mario Party. Consumers are a fickle bunch who buy what they are told to by advertisements more often than not. It's disappointing, because true gems like Ico and Psychonauts are totally overlooked for the next Madden or Halo (not saying they are bad titles).
Indeed. This whole thing is just fishy... the more they talk about it, the less inclined I am to believe it. The PS3 is picking up speed, they need to spin it any way they can. Hell, all 3 systems selling well is good for GAMERS though... and titles being developed first on the PS3 won't hurt (hello DMC4, Burnout) anyone.
