Videogames are NOT a haven for children, and its this mentality that annoys the hell out of me. Games, just like books or film, appeal to a wide range of people/ages and thus are DESIGNED for a wide range of people/ages. Games are not a HAVEN, you do not sit a child in front of a game parents and let it act as a babysitter. Goddamn idiots. While nudity on Live is in poor taste, its that BS view that really gets me.
I'm still interested. Hopefully the game is solid, but with MGS4, GTA, Battlefield BC, and CoD4 still going strong... its going to have to be GREAT.
Umm... the games aren't THAT hard to follow, nor is the entire plot line. Do people just not pay attention these days? I'm not saying it isn't dense, but damn, people act like its in a foreign language.

What happened to that nice preview video and shots from a while back? I dunno, this game has totally dropped off my FPS radar, especially with CoD4 out now, and Battlefield Bad Company, Haze, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and more on the way.

Even when the PS3 fairs equally, you still have people looking for excuses to put it down. So yes, you would hear noise, just from the other side. And the PS3 is a graphics beast as well. Ratchet = gorgeous. I agree though, its a great time to be a gamer.
I'll disagree. I'll say the value is rather... weak at best. Why? Because most people have made up their minds already on which console they prefer, which version they will purchase, and it can be for a number of reasons. 1) Use reviews to judge instead of inform about a purchase.
2) Use them as fact, not opinion.
3) Think that anything below a 9.5 is crap. There's a 10 point scale for a reason, with 5 being average.
I hope we get an excellent playable boss again, a la Abyss. Even if he is broken, its nice to be able to play as everyone that shows up IMHO.

Does anyone else think this generation people are talking about game length way too much? I don't know, maybe its everyone is looking towards perceived value now since games have jumped to $60, but I don't remember people talking about how many hours to finish game back in the PS2 days outside of RPGs.
Agreed. While the original article was wrong in some respects, they succeeded in once again wasting all your time with lame console comparisons. The Ps3 and the 360 are on pretty equal terms. People need to get over it and just enjoy the games and the competition without getting bitter.
With all due respect, that works the other way around too. On 9 out of 10 sites, you aren't even allowed to speak well of the PS3, even in a nonbiased manner. You aren't allowed to criticize Halo 3, even in an intelligent manner, because ZOMG ITS HALO 3. I really do agree. I thought Halo was very solid, but the second two were overly meh. Unfortunately, its almost as if you aren't allowed to say that because it has a Mountain Dew can named in its honor.

Gaming was great before Halo. Gaming will be great after Halo. Halo was great for its time, but quality product has already overshadowed it. Maybe the casuals/outsiders need to get with the times?
