I highly doubt its 90 minutes, as I highly doubt anyone timed it, and if its just the ending, what's the big deal? I've talked to a few people who were lucky enough to finish it, and none said it even approached 90 minutes.
A long and fitting ending? I keep hearing this game stacks up to 2/3 gameplay, 1/3 cinema of its 30 hour runtime, which is fine by me by all accounts. I can't wait for a solid (no pun intended) ending more akin to Return of the King than lackluster a la Halo 3. Remember, they have over 70 years of ingame continuity and 6 other games to wrap up. Go for it with full glory I say. Will everyone like it? Of course not, but I can't wait for it.
Also, get over the installs already. It's...
Then skip the cutscenes, or don't play the game. But this is the 7th MGS game, if you don't know what to expect now, then its your own fault.
And the anti-Sony FUD continues!
Hence why companies sent out PREVIEW builds and REVIEW builds. It's nothing new. What is new is a company coming out and explaining why their review is late, and all because its at the request of the company who is publishing the game. As I said, if load times are this serious of an issue that they must delay a review, then Gamespot has other issues. An extra week isn't going to make NG2 revolutionary or give it better level design.
Hell, my preview build of Kingdom Hearts 2 was...
Rational? Sure. Here's a thought...
Review the game as everyone else did. If the load times are going to be an issue, DON'T COMMENT ON THEM IN THE REVIEW. Instead, put a disclaimer that this portion of the review will be considered at a later date, as the game is not "final." If the load times are THAT bad that 2 - 5 extra seconds make or break a game review score, frankly Gamespot has other issues. This smacks of favors and coddling.
The game is basically do...
On one hand, I believe that games should be final when reviewed, so that they are playing the same version of the title, load times and all, the we consumers get to enjoy. At the same time however though, I never see this sort of courtesy being extended to PS3 games. So this definitely smacks of bias and pleasing the "winning console" fanbase.
I really hate game journalism. So biased.
I agree to an extent. Poorly done ports are a waste. I know we can't always have duel development, but titles like DMC4, Burnout Paradise, and Call of Duty 4 tell me that lame/lazy porting is just a pathetic cash in. We are paying customers too, we deserver better.
Want a good explanation? Ask away. I'll give you the answer to ANY question you want (pre MGS4)
What would you like, Name, dear friend? I'll cook one up for you.
The one on Gamefaqs? I'll be glad to clear anything up for you right here, seeing as I'm one of the writers, and many other forums have basically just stolen our work.
They need to get all the basic features in like Trophies and Cross Game chat and lobby systems to join multiplayer together, and release this thing, instead of constantly tweaking it.
Well said man, I agree with you 100% on all accounts.
I want to hear more on the character creation already. Hopefully its more robust.
Well said Name, well said.
Exactly Ukilnme. This is just another guy's opinion. What's funny though is that he felt the need to rush out and defend the game FOR ALL OF YOU. It's rather pathetic. I say make up your own mind. If you like the game, who cares about the score? Does someone else's opinion matter that much to you? People need to stop cheerleading using other people's review scores (and not even reading the review) and make up their own damn minds.
The point isn't which is better, Haze or NG, since reviews are opinions anyways. The point is, we already have some blog defending a 360 game, whereas a PS3 one would be slammed. Considering Xbots pushed and pushed to tell people that anything below a 9.0 score isn't worthy of AAA praise, I guess NG2 now is not a AAA title.
It's just amusing, pot calling the kettle black and how anal fanboys on both sides get. Yes, it's their job to point out flaws, but now we have a blog saying ...

I choose you, Jacksonchu!
You can, praise Jebus!
