Now we have reviewers bashing other reviewers opinions? Wow. Journalism reaches an all time low.
Reviews = OPINIONS. Everyone needs to learn that. You can't please everyone all the time.
Civil War? Meh... Onslaught Saga would have been better. Or Galactus like the prior looked to setup. Civil War was a nice change of pace, but I want something suitably large and cosmic scale... Infinity Gauntlet? Annihilation Wave? Secret Wars? Coming of Galactus? Ultron?!??!
Maybe I'm just picky...
Killzone was a solid game, held back by technical presentation. KZ2 could be amazing, however, it needs to really strive to stand head and shoulders above the competition, especially with the talented Insomniac pushing out Resistance 2. KZ2 needs to have amazing GAMEPLAY to match the visuals, and the first person cover is the first step. Personally, I want to see...
- More level variety (not just steel structures and gray, tho the colorful lighting is aces.)
- Better...
This article is definitely flamebait, but also consider Sigma and Soul Calibur on XBLA are not even close to the same. Sigma includes a better framerate, self shadowing (which NG2 lacks) on the characters, updated/higher poly models, updated textures and effects, etc. So no, its not really the same. If NGS was a direct port, you'd have a point, but while designwork is the same, much was updated in the process.
This stupidity is still going? Dear god. Excuse me while I go play the superior versions of Burnout, DMC4, Ninja Gaiden, and Oblivion. On my Ps3. Because it's so inferior to the 360!
Goddamn armchair programmers and 50yo fanboys? Is that what this hobby has reduced to? Pathetic. Utterly pathetic.
What's Ninja Gaiden II's excuse then for running at 585p with slowdown? Because its levels are empty and the colors don't pop, nor does the lighting, like Halo 3.
Face it, the PS3 and 360 are about equal, and shine in different areas. It's up to the devs to make their titles shine. If you try to use one console's programming techniques on the other, you're going to get mud on your face.
So did the Halo 3 teaser, at double the resolution with double the texture resolution as well. All companies toss out BS target renders, get over it.
PS - Sony doesn't make MGS. Konami does.
My intent is not to bash any games, it's to prove that the article is quite pathetic and unfounded. The article basically says that the PS3 is behind the 360 and being held back by its GPU, the assumption of this obviously coming from shoddy PORT jobs, without looking at any exclusive titles or GOOD ports.
If this article were truth, then there would be NO titles on the PS3 that ran better than anything comparable on the 360, which is what I'm getting at. Notice when a game is d...
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - 60fps 1080p.
Ninja Gaiden II - Slowdown at 585p.
Resistance - Rock solid 30fps at 720p. (With upwards of 30 people on screen no less!)
Halo 3 - Stuttering 30fps at 640p.
Fact. Fact. Fact. Fact.
Who's insecure?
If 30,000 Polygons on the Nathan Drake character is lowpoly... you know what, no. Not even going to bother with you. It's a waste of my time.
Uncharted is low texture, low polygon now? I did not know that. Thank you for opening my eyes!
Excuse me while I hope back to Halo 2.5 then, a true revolution in game visuals at 640p! Or perhaps we can play Ninja Gaiden Update Pack 4, running at a native 585p I believe it was? Yes, the 360 runs circles around the PS3. Silly me!
This article would have more credibility if titles like Ratchet, Uncharted, CoD4, Killzone 2, MGS4, etc didn't exist.
A shoddy port is a shoddy port, period. Hardware is only half of the equation.
Also, the article summary is pure fanboy flamebait. Fact. That's the thing about facts, if you take away logical progression, anything can be proven "true."
Sorry, but the haters cannot deter me. Their loss. Perhaps they should go back to what they do best, pretending Master Chief actually has depth.
Wonderful thing called personal opinion. Those title don't work for you? Good for you. But calling out someone on their preference is laughably fail kid.
I could same about the DS. Oh look, ANOTHER generic Metroidvania game with reused sprites.Oh look, ANOTHER sports spectacle with Mario shoved in. Oh look, ANOTHER rehash... sorry, "sequel" for a Nintendo franchise. I played "New" Super Mario Bros back when it WAS new in the 1980s.
Both systems have ...
THIS is what community is all about. IF Sony gets this right, it will be a great, great feature that really pushes forward social gaming.
Once again, the parents of today are do nothings who leave their child raising to tv and games. They need to step in and teach their children the difference between whats real and fake. I started gaming in 1987. I've yet to get into a fight, let alone steal a car or kill someone. Take some goddamn responsibility in raising your own children for Christ's sake.
The same could be said of Free Radical though. The talent there is impressive, as is their history, and they are right at home with FPS titles. Yet look at how Haze turned out. That's why hype is a double edged sword in a sense.
A talented dev team, sadly, is no guarantee for a hit game. Everyone has a misstep sooner or later. But as I said above, no one should WANT a game to fail. That's just an absurd thought. The cut backs on the player count, as well as the constant delays, w...
High Definition man, well said.
There are no guarantees. Marketing and hype do not equal quality. I hope Too Human turns out great, as no one should WANT a game to fail/flop/be mediocre.
Bias exists in all people. A true reviewer will do his best to set it aside, but many don't. They play game politics, and what's worse, the write articles that foster the flame wars in the talkback sections, all for hits. It's pathetic.
Also, I can't stand when a site, I believe Gamespot is one of them, says their reviews are FACT. No, they aren't. They are opinion, just like every other review. If Ratchet being a 7.5 is a fact, then the earth is flat my friend.
If you think the PS3 is lacking in quality titles compared to the Wii, well... you must have been living on Mars the past year.
I wasnt impressed by the demo. Aiming felt too floaty, and the enemies didn't even react when you shot them, until they dropped. Please tell me they added "hit" animations into the final game, I was looking forward to this.
