Octobers going to be a great month for gamers after a really baron period during the summer. Can't wait
I don't agree with the article and it just smacks of someone who hasn't tried it yet. But I do think the success will depend on a couple of VR killer games that are a critical success.
If people feel they are missing out they will be more prepared to stump up the cash to buy one. If it's all wii sports type experiences then maybe it will fail but not because the technology is rubbish and not because of the reasons it failed in the mid 1990s like a lot of misguide...
Yeah I agree. Remember the chase scene from attack of the clones in those hover cars I've always imagined a rockstar GTA style version of that in kind of a bladerunner film noire style. Let's be honest that hasn't been done yet or at least successfully.
Still got my doubts over the look of the handling, (looks a bit floaty) and some of the lighting on the cars in the screenshots doesn't look great. Still I will play the free version and decide for myself, but I'm not getting that wow feeling like so many other people seem to be getting.
It's gonna be around the price of the DK2 if not cheaper.
I always thought this when you left the game running and it went into a first person view by itself after awhile and you could just appreciate the world carrying on without your input.
I'd be happy to just visit the grand theft auto universe as a tourist in VR even if they stripped away most of the gameplay it would still be amazing just to walk about a full size city.
And I guess the developers are also playing along with this little charade Sony cooked up by not releasing their multiplatform games at 1080p on the Xbox one?
Errr they sold 10 million because they were better than the other options.
People are just getting bored of cover shooters that's all. It's like a few years back all that was being released were first person shooters and then people moved on and probably the next big thing will be the horror genre again judging by the amount of horror games in development.
To be fair games can take years to make and in that time people grow tired and a game can look dated before it's even released.
I have to say though this title has ne...
It was a short teaser and the difficult last puzzle was there to get the Internet talking and discussing the game. Let's be honest it's worked a treat.
I doubt the final game will be anything like the PT demo especially that last puzzle, but I still expect it to be as disturbing and scary just more conventional in its approach.
Great. Well done Microsoft paying a fortune for this, causing a **** storm and then being forced to admit its a timed exclusive 24 hours later. At least we don't all have to run out and buy a **** box now. Not that we were going to anyway.
Short term profit for a long term fail
There's a difference between a new IP being exclusive and an established franchise that has historically always been a playstation first title becoming an exclusive for a rival
There's no reason this can't be a 2h 30min movie if the plot requires it.
So you just cut the dead daughter bit which underpins everything that follows with Joel and Ellie. Err ok not a good start to their character arcs
Normally the summer games drought gives you an opportunity to catch up on the games you missed out last holiday season except this isn't possible with a new console. The publishers have missed a big trick because one AAA game released this summer would have cleaned up.
You walk into a game store and you see 5 or 6 brilliant games all with the coming soon stickers on them and they will all release around the same time and then all of a sudden you haven't got time to pl...
Wow how unimpressive
I'm getting a bit jaded with these open world map clearance games. I played black flag and enjoyed it but started to get bored as there was just too much to do and the main game wasnt focused enough to keep my attention so never finished it.
Then I went against my intuition and bought watch dogs and was really disappointed in everything especially the hacking which was terrible. I felt like I had seen everything the game had to offer in the first three hours and that nev...
I totally agree with this article. Plus I'd like to add that the list of actors/actresses banded about to play Joel and Ellie are not filling me with confidence. The characters are so believable in the game it WILL feel like someone impersonating one of our favourite actors and this will grate at least to the gaming community.
They really need to get actors in who are as close to the gaming performances as possible. Ellen page is an absolute must for me and as for Joel no...
I'm sick of hearing about destiny now. It's rubbish so let's all move on
