This game looks pretty impressive. Then you see it in 1080P and you realise all those particle effects are actually cubes, not particles. Then your head goes B O O M
Write this off as free indie junk if it makes you sleep better in your lime green duvet set tonight - this game is one of the few that actually screams next gen when you see it running first hand.
"the PS4 has made things easier but also challenges us" -Naoki Yoshida
"You have an idea, you try it out, and if it's good, you keep it, if it's not, you think of something else. By shortening this cycle, I believe PS4 games can be richer." -Mark Cerny
As for Shinji Mikami, he seems a little scared by the prospect of ps4! :D
You didn't quite cut & paste that from wikipedia correctly:
"Double Helix Games was formed in 2007 via a merger between two Foundation 9 studios, The Collective and Shiny Entertainment."
Out of 29 releases by Double Helix, only 7 of them have a Metacritic rating of over 70 - that's appalling by anyone's standards.

@thrust Do I sound hurt? I'm merely stating facts and relevant information, not just a tiny window on things - sorry if that upsets you. Feel free to use the [disagree] button if it makes you feel better. Have a fun day.
@theWB27 Go read the comments sections on the forza bundle page and read users' experience, then you'll have a better picture.
Because they, like shopto, only received a few hundred.
You're right with the Amazon info though, it is the current 3rd best selling item in recent sales. It looks like the FIFA bundle spiked a bit as well (it was 601st and is now 44th) - looks like when the FMS bundles went people jumped on the FIFA ones. Both are now gone. Even the standard edition jumped from 33rd to 15th.
As for 2013 as a whole, ps4 at 4th is the highest next gen console SKU (behind ...
They didn't backtrack, the simply ran out of a very limited stock (a few hundred) when people swapped from the FIFA bundle to the FMS one using their SWAP feature.
It sold out quickly because it was very limited at the retailers (shopto only got a few hundred).
@theWB27 Your proof from here: http://www.shopto.net/news/...

Signed, hope I'm picked.
Look to Soul Saga or Cosmic Star Heroine if you want a real throwback JRPG for the ps4/vita - Project Phoenix isn't nearly as true to the genre as these.
Not many, it seems limited to world exploration and character building, but the actual combat (the main focus of any game for me) it's not a JRPG at all. People like to disagree with these comments but don't offer any response - just a "disagree" vote.
Another thing the more I look into this... it's going to appear on all these platforms, including iOS and droid - that's a big warning sign there. Whenever I see this I expect dumbed-down gameplay and compromise. They might say it won't lead to compromise on real gaming platforms, but do you really expect them to develop essentially two games based on the same one? They're promising too many things to too many people, that rarely works out well.
Feel free to t...
For me the combat mechanics have everything to do with something being a "full fledged JRPG", especially one claiming to be a Phoenix from the flames.
As for the words I quoted above, it's the first thing you see on the kickstarter page when you start reading the details and it's all in caps as quoted. I quoted their words verbatim.
This is why I'm turned off:
"Project Phoenix is a fantasy themed squad-based real-ti...
Kickstarter says "SQUAD-BASED, REAL-TIME STRATEGY GAME combined with strong Japanese RPG design influences" - that sounds a lot less interesting to me than jrpg.
Heavily by Sony in the week before release?
No, that was just a notification system to receive news.
actual pre-orders were "over 1m" or "well in excess of 1m" worldwide for ps4, ms have kept quiet on the number.
nothing speaks as loudly as “cheaper, sooner, and more.”
"the true competition—the console war that everyone is raving about—will only begin when November calms down. Because at that point, consoles will remember what they’re all about—you know, games—and promises will stop selling systems."
bring it.
"We purposefully did not target the highest end graphics"
"Comparing specs is meaningless"
"1.75 > 1.6"

"We are pretty much sold out of xbox one at all major retailers around the globe, but because of the great progress that we have made by moving to full production and because of the demand we've seen, we've found a way to create a few more day one SKUs, so you can get the xbox one delivered the day of launch"
That all sounded rather conflicting and contrived. PR BS.

@ElementX "makes me believe it isn't very optimised"
A ton of housemarque's staff are demosceners - don't come with that kind of nonsense, these kids know how to put hardware through its paces and they know how to write tight code.
As for the game - this really rectifies the issue I always had with Defender and its clones - you never got to see much of anything unless you were right on top of it and ended up having to rely so much on the...
