@Ulf
Okay, and to get HD graphics from a PS3/Xbox 360 you need an HDTV *SHOCK*. So add that into the price of a console I suppose...
If you build your own PC (which is ridiculously easy anyways) you can get a pretty damn capable PC for pretty cheap. I just bought a new PC mainly because of BF3. I honestly have no clue if it will run the final product at 1080p on very high settings, but I'm positive it'll manage on at least high.
Nvidi...
Yeah, I went there.
You are the first person I've seen that has had that opinion.
To be fair, regardless of what most people claim, I doubt too many 'gamers' from high profile websites have actually sat down and really experienced Demon's Souls.
So you're probably right.
Normally I wouldn't care about this. EA really only have a few games/series worth playing on PC. (There might be more I can't think of right now, plus it's my opinion)
Mass Effect
Dead Space
Battlefield
But Battlefield 3 is going to be a huge seller. Especially on PC, and in an age where PC games generally don't sell exceptionally well, BF3 is one game that will. Valve will definitely be missing out on this.

I'm going to go ahead and assume he was referring to console shooters...
@anime
I don't know if that's true, but if it is, it actually sounds pretty awesome.
I loved invading in Demon's souls. I just hope the pyromancer thing wouldn't be ridiculously often.
It's nice to see bowling say this.
I personally am not a CoD fan, and I can't wait for BF3, but EA needs to stop trying to overhype the game IMO. They keep saying in interviews and whatnot that it will be better than CoD and I think they even said it would sell better.
No offense, but I highly doubt that a battlefield game is going to sell more than a CoD:MW title. Maybe whatever treyarch comes out with next, but even that's highly unlikely.
Dark Souls has a lock on... but the game is completely based on skill anyways.
Also flamelurker in Demon's Souls wasn't too hard. If you were a thief it was a little harder, but you could just put on ring of flame resistance, and some leather armor which increased fire resistance and you could either wait for him to do the run/leap inferno combo then hit him while he's stunned. Or just arrow/roll/arrow/roll.
If you were heavy type character you ...
Sully dies.
I am positive.
Day 1.
As much as I want ME3, it really sounds like they basically have the same type of 'story' gameplay as ME2 and Dragon Age 1.
ME2 was go to these places and recruit some highly qualified team members to fight the reapers.
Dragon Age was go to these places and recruit entire armies to fight the darkspawn.
ME3 is going to be go to these planets and recruit their armies to fight the reapers.
I'm not saying it will be ...
At least the Indians are doing pretty fucking good this year.
They just ended a $9.99 deal for it. I picked it up back around black friday when it was also $9.99. Such a good game, I would say if you want to play it at the highest settings then be sure you can run Crysis on at least high because the game reeeally uses resources.
@Kneon
I actually loved the gamecube controller. My only gripe about it was the analog stick, mainly because it had the octagon shape around it so it felt weird to move it around.
Well I use just about every type of gun in basically every shooter I play, and the FAL shoots just right in my opinion.
Am I the only person that thinks if Wii 2 launches in 2012, and the next MS/Sony console launches in 2014 that two years apart would be a completely different generation of consoles all together? With the Wii 2 being an eight generation console, and the PS4/720 being a ninth generation console?
Technology improves so rapidly that two years later would make them a whole different beast.
I'm pretty sure Sony is going to attempt to release the same year as the new MS console. If they would have done so with the PS3, then it would be ahead in sales right now, even with that higher price point. But I suspect the PS4 won't launch at that high of a price again.
Even so, BC2 had Squad Rush which took far more skill and team play in order to win. If BF3 has anything similar to that, then I expect a massive amount of team work.
Increase the FAL fire rate would unbalance the gun... As long as you can aim the damn thing, it's better than the AK.
I don't think you will. Source will always be called Source. I don't think they will ever update the name. Valve has been updating Source engine since the day it came out. Each Major Valve release has added significant improvements to the engine. While it might not look as nice as Crysis, I'd hardly say Portal 2 was an ugly game.
Besides, I'll take Valve's gameplay over Crytek's anyday.
