The draw distance isn't necessarily longer(most weapons dont fire that far anyways), but the backgrounds are much more detailed. In the last Gears you never saw mountain ranges or cityskapes - it felt a little boxed in.

Really though, I don't understand all the excitement over this game, its just a RTS clone. They've been making these for a while now. These games are a dime a dozen, the only value I could see this game having is if someone is really that interested in the Halo universe.

It's so pointless to have Guitar Hero and Rock Band. All we need is one game, Rock Band. When you add a drum set to guitar hero (which was recently announced), you aren't playing guitar hero anymore, you're playing rock band!

I rented the game and beat it in like 2 days. I think that it was pretty overrated.
Don't get me wrong, the graphics were awesome. The thing that I didn't like about this game was the fact that it relied too much on the gunplay. This was an action adventure game, yet there was about 80% action and 20% adventure.
I wanted more puzzles, and harder puzzles. I wanted more exploring. Instead the game played more like a 3rd person shooter.
