I actually find Nintendo's approach to try and deliver a "reinvented" experience each generation refreshing.
I know many point and call "excuses" but when I consider what they've brought over the years I'm hardly left wanting.
3DS brought 3D gaming to the mainstream.
Wii perfected motion controls.
DS changed handheld gaming with dual screens.
Now the Wii U has great games however I'll admit ...
A zombie? Is it a zombie? Plllleeeaaasssseeee let it be a zombie.
I still hold out hope that Nintendo will release Star a Fox 2 on virtual console. They've been embracing nostalgia lately and this would be a good lead in to their upcoming Star Fox Wii U game.
@Foxtrot
You say all that with the assumption that single player is suffering because of multiplayer.
That's an unfounded criticism at this point, no?
It depends on what criteria...
Story:
1
2
3
The first game had the best story arc and emotional decision that never quite got matched in 2 and 3.
Gameplay:
2
3
1
As much as I love the first game the equipment management and terrain travel were problematic. Despite part 3 being a letdown in story it maintained the streamlined gameplay introduced in 2.
I really believe that NX stands for Nintendo Experience (think like UX is user experience in development).
That being said, I think Nintendo is targeting a unified handheld and console approach with "a Netflix like" library of games available by subscription (or maybe purchase).
That's my guess but I'm not sure what it means for backwards compatibility...
Agreed. Nothing wrong with local multiplayer! In fact, they're a staple of classic Rare games...
There is only one answer: the developer has not taken the time to properly optimize save functionality. It may be the result of having to wrap up the project.
Save files should simply save key data points (# points, locations, etc.). That type is data is very small so they're likely saving lots of unnecessary data.
Great looking game... can't wait to play!
This game looks like it has potential. It's something I might pick up one it comes out!
This game looks like it could be fun. I'm on the fence about backing but have it starred to follow-up.
"The power of a celebrity can take you far."
Too true, perhaps this is the route Kojima takes for his next game.
I love the 8-bit look here with the music. It would be really fun if these characters became popular to have Playtonic create a true retro game.
Nah... the characters look good as they are. I suspect they'll take advantage of chameleon abilities in some way too.
I'm really looking forward to this game. The Rare veterans look like they're putting a great platformer together. It's my first Kickstarter!
Or... call me crazy, he's tweeting about the new Mad Max movie. Nothing to see here.
@Summons75
Yeah, I'm not going to debate you. You're right that some of these things have gone sideways. My only point is that not every kickstarter is a scam.
My what a broad brush you have!
"The future of gaming is gaming."
Hot take!
The disagrees are interesting but I'd like to see what people have to say.
