Here we go with the unfounded rumor mill. I swear articles like this are to create disappointment. What reason is there to believe this state of play will be any different than any other? Final fantasy is coming out soon but that’s a given. A deeper dive is assuredly coming. I’ll remain regular old optimistic as usual. No extra seasoning required.
Larian studios, creators of one of the best games I have played in ages, have said what should be obvious at this point. The gamespass model is bad for gaming as a whole. Creativity will drop (it cost money), budgets get a lot tighter, and development time will get shorter. Games that have been out for a while and then released on there when it’s had its run should mostly be fine. FOMO will prevent most people from simply waiting months/years to play games on the sub.

In the old words of EA, if it’s in the game, it’s in the game. How can I not record and post parts of a game that you allowed on your game system? Ive been stacking up $25 store credit cards for months. Tekken 8 $109 bundle is 100% free. Keep in mind I used $25 earlier this year for a discount on something else that I bought that I cannot remember. I admittedly buy plenty of games. Mine probably builds up faster that the average bear.

Of course it will. Everyone else’s UI sucks and all have a smaller selection. On consoles there’s so much QA, regulations, and approvals to get through. Only thing easier to get games on is probably the google play store. Therefor Steam is loaded with a metric ton of indies. Within that ton is a a portion that’s trash, hidden gem, outright gold, and games that make you WANT a bit more stringent QA system. Even that’s covered with returns though. This won’t spoil anything. Maybe if you dig deeper. Ive gotten a peek at where they are headed and I must say, once I saw blood and a limb come off, I am definitely even more sold. I wouldnt count them out until we see my personal bae, The Elder Scrolls series. After that it’s all on Fallout. Yeah you have wolfenstein, and another love of mine, the FIRST Dishonored. But those games are very limited reach and in the case of dishonored, it got worse with part 2.

What people need to realize is Sony is trying something NEW for them with this live service stuff. Even if it fails miserably, repeatedly, or both they are STILL doing the things that have them comfortably in at the forefront of Christmas list. It’s not like they changed their entire business model. New content, innovation, and taking risk. NOT relying on others to make compelling titles for them. NOT relying on other titles to save them. Kinda like Ol’ Cap says, “They can do this all day”.

If 100 people in January want an Xbox and buy it and 100 people want a PlayStation and buy it, then in February 50 people want an Xbox and buy it and 200 people want a PlayStation and buy it, then in March 25 people want an Xbox and buy it and 250 people want a playstation..... and so on.
