It's not Sega's IP. The fact that Nintendo is publishing Bayo 2, and not Sega, shows this.
Sega may or may not own the rights for the first game (this I don't know for sure), but they definitely don't own the IP.

@live2play: yes, a lot of people were doing exactly what you mention, and that was equally as idiotic.
And that's my point, the comparison is absurd in any scenario were you try and size up launch day games with one-year games (or more).
Mario 3D World is fantastic, and taking a cheap shot at the other consoles' launch libraries is exactly that, a cheap shot, and falacious by nature.

Not funny, just natural. Wii U has been out for a year now, while the PS4 just launched this past friday, and the Xbox One isn't out yet.
I'd expect the PS4 and Xbox One to have better rated games a year after their respective launches than they did when they launched.

I think the true Nintendo online experience will come with Mario Kart 8. So far, all Mario Kart games since the DS version have been the definitive online experiences in their respective consoles.
So, I think Mario Kart 8 will do the same. Hopefully, Smash Bros for Wii U follows suit (online play on Brawl was downright broken).

Dude, you're judging it way too early. Chances are, you just played the first few levels and already decided it's not all everyone makes it out to be, without considering that it's exactly that, just the early levels, designed to let the players sink in the experience.
