That story was solid from start to finish and wrapped up tightly. I've thought about it over and over since I played and they left no continuity errors or mistakes, and told a great story involving time travel.

It's not groundbreaking it just is what it is. It's not even a big deal. Bioware has been doing this stuff for years. I watched Kingslaive and Brotherhood before and it really fleshed out the story. In Kingslaive you see the story from Luna and Nyx and the Kings perspective. In the game you see it through Noctis's perspective. I think it worked out pretty great and I was really surprised by how much I liked Kingslaive as a movie and how much it primed for the games world.
I think we and our attention spans have changed over the course of the last decade. I can't imagine watching Shiva, Ifrit and Bahumats summon animation over and over again. Like i used to.
All I know is as much as time as I spent grinding out characters to 100 in the 90s. Right here right now I can't play an hour before I start falling asleep on traditional RPG's. Despite this i have already put in 60+ hours on FFXV barely even touching the story. Just hunting and doing side quests.
